Two civilians were killed and two others were injured by alleged US airstrike on the Al-Nahda neighborhood in the Al-Thawra district of Sana’a, Yemen on April 19, 2025. The strike also reportedly killed three Houthi leaders.
A Facebook post from “Palestine and Yemen News” reported “Two martyrs and two wounded” by US “aggression” on the Al-Nahda neighborhood in the Al-Thawra district of Sana’a. Multiple sources, including, @TvAlmasirah, provided a similar toll of two killed and two wounded.
Al-Mashhad News reported that the US strikes “targeted” the home of prominent Houthi leader Abu Ali al-Kabsi while he was with a number of people, resulting in the death of three people inside the house, likely including the leader al-Kabsi, and the destruction of the home. The explosion resulting from the airstrike also “caused civilian casualties among residents of neighboring homes, in addition to material damage to several nearby homes.”
A video from @TvAlmasirah which purports to show “the effects of the US aggression” includes a building with four large windows blown out and glass covering the ground. The video later shows a young man with a head injury urgently being brought into a medical facility and later receiving a CT scan or MRI scan. Tamam Al-Madani reposted the video including the injured young man with the caption “Yahya Muhammad Hassan Al-Madani. Pray for his speedy recovery”. it is unclear if the man in the video is Yahya.
According to Abdulqawi Al-Humayqani, “huge explosions” rocked Sana’a, and included an image of smoke above a city skyline. Mukhtar Nashed published a video on Facebook reportedly taken from a surveillance camera in Sana’a which shows the initial strike and further explosions.
