[Announces official end to its Operation Desert Falcon, as F-16’s return home]

Additional report from CJTF-OIR:
‘Coalition Forces successfully engaged multiple targets throughout the ISIL stronghold of ar-Raqqah which have severely constricted terrorist freedom of movement. Sixteen airstrikes were conducted on July 4, destroying vital ISIL-controlled structures and transit routes in Syria.
The operation focused on mobility corridors used by ISIL to project their fighters and military equipment, and to destabilize the region.
These airstrikes, combined with ground force activity throughout northern Syria, are increasing the pressure on ISIL. This pressure comes on the heels of ISIL ceding over 5,000 square kilometers of territory to anti-ISIL forces over the past two months.
Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve spokesperson Lt. Col. Thomas Gilleran said the disruption of these transport and communication routes in ISIL’s self-proclaimed Syrian capital were conducted with precision and with the intent to maximize the impacts on ISIL.
“The significant airstrikes tonight were executed to deny Daesh the ability to move military capabilities throughout Syria and into Iraq,” said Gilleran. “This was one of the largest deliberate engagements we have conducted to date in Syria, and it will have debilitating effects on Daesh’s ability to move from ar-Raqqah.”’

From Danish MoD:
Report for week ending July 7th 2015
[Reports 10 new missions with 5 bombs dropped]

July 20th 2015 – On July 19, coalition military forces continued to attack ISIL terrorists in Syria and Iraq. In Syria, coalition military forces conducted nine airstrikes using fighter and remotely piloted aircraft. Separately in Iraq, coalition military forces conducted 14 airstrikes approved by the Iraqi Ministry of Defense using attack, fighter-attack, bomber and remotely piloted aircraft against ISIL targets.
“Coalition precision airstrikes continue to degrade key Daesh capabilities across our area of operations, from Ar Raqqah to Mosul to Ramadi,” said Brig. Gen. Kevin Killea, CJTF-OIR chief of staff.  “These coalition strikes against Daesh tactical units erode the terrorists’ ability to conduct large scale offensive operations; moreover, these air strikes significantly enhance the ISF ability to maneuver throughout the battle space and advance on Daesh strongholds. Ramadi is a good example of this. After only one week, nearly all of the ISF forces have advanced to a point expected by Iraqi leadership for this phase of the operation. This is significant considering the heavy fighting and complex obstacle and IED belts encountered by the ISF. No doubt coalition air power has contributed greatly to the progress of the Ramadi operation.”

From UK MoD:
‘Two Tornado GR4s from RAF Akrotiri, supported by a Voyager refuelling tanker, conducted two air strikes on Thursday 23 July, when they flew a close air support mission to assist the Kurdish peshmerga near Sinjar. The first attack was on a building from which a sniper was firing at the peshmerga; the precision of the Paveway IV guided bomb and careful planning by the RAF aircrew allowed a successful attack without danger to the friendly forces.
Shortly afterwards, a second target was identified – a terrorist mortar position – this was also destroyed with a Paveway.
Further south that day, a Reaper destroyed another ISIL supply vehicle with a Hellfire missile, and also provided surveillance support for a strike on a terrorist position by other coalition aircraft.
In western Iraq, meanwhile, a Reaper identified a building from which an ISIL group were firing on Iraqi soldiers; this allowed a coalition jet to conduct a successful attack. The Reaper then mounted its own Hellfire attack to destroy a nearby heavy machine-gun position.’

Additional CJTF-OIR note:
‘July 25th 2015 – Coalition airstrikes conducted today successfully destroyed a Daesh vehicle-borne improvised explosive device facility in Fallujah, Iraq. In coordination with the Government of Iraq, Coalition forces will continue to seek out and deliberately target Daesh forces, equipment, and resources wherever they are found.
This facility was a critical ISIL asset that helped the terrorists produce numerous VBIEDs –the ISIL weapon of choice –which can be moved easily throughout Iraq and used against Iraqi Security Forces and the civilian population.
“Although these strikes were not conducted in direct support of Iraqi ground forces, they were done in coordination with the Government of Iraq. By destroying VBIED factories like this one with deliberate air strikes, we take the weapon of choice out of the arsenal of Daesh,” said Brig. Gen. Kevin Killea, CJTF-OIR Chief of Staff. “Daesh VBIEDs are responsible for many attacks against the ISF and atrocities committed against the civilian population.”
These strikes bolster freedom of movement for Iraqi Security Forces and increase protection for Iraqi civilians. These airstrikes are part of a broader effort by the Coalition to degrade and ultimately defeat Daesh terrorists in Iraq and Syria.’

The aircraft’s crew spotted an anti-aircraft gun being used by ISIL to fire on the Iraqi forces, and promptly destroyed the gun with a Hellfire. A second Hellfire accounted for a machine-gun position.
The Reaper also helped coordinate a series of successful air strikes by several coalition jets, which destroyed two terrorist positions as well as a pair of armoured personnel carriers, one of which appeared to have been converted into a large car-bomb.’

Update for week ending July 28th 2015
[Reports 10 new missions dropping 15 bombs [c 5 strikes] at Nineveh, Salah al Din and Anbar provinces]
