Iranian media reported that Mohammad Reza Seddiqi Saber, a key figure in the Islamic Republic's nuclear program, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on his father's home in Astana Ashrafiyeh on Tuesday morning. According to these reports, Israel had also targeted his own home in Tehran a few days earlier. The US Treasury Department had sanctioned Seddiqi, 51, in late May of this year for his role in the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and violating sanctions imposed by the Islamic Republic. Seddiqi was the head of the "Shahid Karimi" group affiliated with the Islamic Republic's Sepand organization, which worked on explosives-related projects.

بر اساس این گزارش‌ها، اسرائیل چند روز پیش نیز منزل خود او را در تهران هدف قرار داده بود.
وزارت خزانه‌‌داری آمریکا اواخر اردیبهشت امسال صدیقی ۵۱ ساله را به دلیل نقش‌آفرینی در برنامه‌های اشاعه تسلیحات کشتار جمعی و نقض تحریم‌های جمهوری اسلامی تحریم کرده بود.
صدیقی رییس گروه «شهید کریمی» وابسته به سازمان سپند جمهوری اسلامی بود که روی پروژه‌های مرتبط با مواد منفجره کار می‌کرد.
