While driving in Haifa, they received a phone alert about missile launches from Iran. Itay's father stopped the car on the side of the road when the alarm sounded. They got away from the car, ran towards a protected area in an underground parking lot, but the Iranian missile fell near them both and they were seriously injured by shrapnel and impact.



Shortly before the missile hit, an emergency medical paramedic finished her morning shift at the MDA call center. Dalia Farihat And on her way home, the alarm also caught her on the same road, a few hundred meters from Itay and his father. Luckily, Dalia was not hurt. She realized that the scene of the fall was very close to her and within a few seconds and with great resourcefulness, she reached Itay and his father and began to provide them with critical medical treatment, which included stopping the bleeding. "The alarm also caught me on the road and because I didn't have a protected space, I lay down on the sidewalk and protected myself according to the instructions of the Home Front Command," Dalia said. She added: "Itay's father immediately noticed significant bleeding and saved his life when he used his shirt to stop the bleeding and when I arrived, I changed him."



At the same time, a few hundred meters away, the home of an MDA paramedic Ahmed Zidane who was in a protected area with his family was seriously injured by the missile strike. "I was at home and immediately after receiving the alert from the Home Front Command, I entered a protected area with my family. A few minutes later, we heard a very loud noise and felt the impact. When I left the protected area, I saw that the windows in my house had broken and a lot of glass had shattered," Ahmed recalled. "I reported the fall to MDA's 101 hotline, I scanned the area to make sure there were no casualties in need of medical attention near my house, while at the same time, the MDA hotline rushed me in the intensive care unit that was on standby with me, to the scene where I and my father were. I joined Dalia and together we provided them with life-saving medical treatment and urgently evacuated them to the hospital in critical condition."



Over the weekend, when Ahmed and Dalia arrived at Itay's house after being released from the hospital, he hugged them and moved them when he thanked them and said, "You are heroes."
