Baptist Hospital: The Flame of Hope They Are Trying to Extinguish____Baptist Hospital, or the Arab Ahli Hospital, was the last lifeline for the residents of northern Gaza, receiving the wounded and sick under extremely difficult conditions. However, the Israeli occupation forces, in their frantic pursuit to eradicate any semblance of life in Gaza, targeted this hospital for the second time, destroying the emergency room and other departments, putting it out of service. The Baptist Hospital was more than just a medical facility; it was a symbol of resilience and hope. Despite its small size, it bore the responsibility of saving countless lives. Even the church and library were transformed into patient rooms, crowded into horrific conditions, in addition to tents. Without the efforts of its staff, including doctors, nurses, and volunteers, the health system in the north would have completely collapsed. The Baptist Hospital had only four beds in its intensive care unit, the only one in northern Gaza after the Shifa complex was rendered inoperable. It also housed a single CT scan machine, three operating rooms where hundreds of surgeries were performed, and a small laboratory racing against time to provide blood units for the wounded. The emergency department, which was completely destroyed, received hundreds of patients and dozens of wounded daily, staffed by doctors, nurses, volunteers, and students who flocked to offer assistance. The Baptist Hospital transcended its role as a medical center, becoming a micro-community that reflected the spirit of Gaza and Palestine. Within its walls, it housed dozens of staff and their families who had lost their homes and ensured the hospital's continued operation. At the Baptist, the church bell would ring, and Muslims would perform their prayers. Despite the sounds of shelling and clashes, a sense of warmth and reassurance prevailed. Staff would gather around whatever food was available, exchanging conversations and jokes, trying to create happy moments amid the pain and suffering. When the shelling intensified, they would be mobilized to receive the wounded, performing their duties to the best of their ability. From the Baptist, coverage and press conferences were broadcast, and foreign delegations were received. In a moment, the Baptist became the capital of northern Gaza and a symbol of it. The traces of the first crime are still evident in the Baptist Square, where the rocket fell, and what remains of the unidentified graves in the hospital garden, and the scars of the wounds in our hearts and scenes of a massacre that haunt us. Today we witness another crime added to the series of continuous crimes of the enemy and we watch with hearts wrung with pain filled with regret and helplessness, a fortress of the struggling health system in Palestine being bombed in front of the world and being forced out of service in a desperate attempt to extinguish the flame of hope in Gaza. By God, it is as if my own house was bombed, and God is victorious over His affair.

مستشفى المعمداني: شعلة الأمل التي يحاولون إخمادها__________مستشفى المعمداني، أو المستشفى الأهلي العربي، كان بمثابة شريان الحياة الأخير لسكان شمال قطاع غزة، حيث كان يستقبل الجرحى والمرضى في ظل ظروف بالغة الصعوبة. لكن قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، في سعيها المحموم لإبادة أي مظهر من مظاهر الحياة في غزة، استهدفت هذا المستشفى للمرة الثانية، ودمرت قسم الطوارئ وأقسامًا أخرى، مما أدى إلى خروجه عن الخدمة.لم يكن مستشفى المعمداني مجرد مرفق طبي، بل كان رمزًا للصمود والأمل. فرغم صغر حجمه، تحمل مسؤولية إنقاذ أرواح لا حصر لها. حتى مبنى الكنيسة والمكتبة تحولا إلى قاعات للمرضى، وتكدسوا فيه وسط ظروف صحية مروعة، إضافة إلى الخيام. لولا جهود العاملين فيه، من أطباء وممرضين ومتطوعين، لانهار النظام الصحي في الشمال بالكامل.كان مستشفى المعمداني يضم غرفة إنعاش بأربعة أسرة فقط، وهي الوحيدة في شمال غزة بعد خروج مجمع الشفاء عن الخدمة. كما كان يضم جهاز أشعة مقطعية وحيدًا، وثلاث غرف عمليات تجرى فيها مئات العمليات الجراحية، ومختبرًا صغيرًا يسابق الزمن لتوفير وحدات الدم للجرحى. كان قسم الطوارئ، الذي دُمر بالكامل، يستقبل يوميًا مئات المرضى وعشرات الجرحى، ويعمل فيه أطباء وممرضون ومتطوعون وطلاب توافدوا لتقديم المساعدة.تجاوز مستشفى المعمداني دوره كمركز طبيً، فأصبح مجتمعًا مصغرًا يعكس روح غزة وفلسطين. بين جدرانه، كان يأوي عشرات العاملين وعائلاتهم، الذين فقدوا منازلهم، وحرصوا على استمرار عمل المستشفى. في المعمداني، كان جرس الكنيسة يصدح، وكان المسلمون يؤدون صلواتهم. رغم أصوات القصف والاشتباكات، كان يسود شعور بالدفء والطمأنينة. كان العاملون يتجمعون حول ما تيسر من الطعام، ويتبادلون أطراف الحديث والنكات، في محاولة لخلق لحظات سعيدة وسط الألم والمعاناة. وعندما كان القصف يشتد، كانوا يستنفرون لاستقبال الجرحى، ويؤدون واجبهم بأقصى ما لديهم من إمكانيات. ومن المعمداني، كانت تبث التغطيات والمؤتمرات الصحفية، وتستقبل الوفود الأجنبيةأصبح المعمداني في لحظة من اللحظات عاصمة لشمال غزة و رمزا لها .لا تزال آثار الجريمة الأولى ماثلة في ساحة المعمداني، حيث سقط الصاروخ، وما تبقى من القبور المجهولة في حديقة المستشفى، وندوب الجراح في قلوبنا و مشاهد لمجزرة تؤرقنا ، و اليوم نشاهد جريمة أخرى تضاف إلى سلسلة جرائم العدو المتواصلة و نشاهد بقلوب معتصرة من الألم ملأها الحسرة و العجز، قلعة من قلاع المنظومة الصحية المناضلة في فلسطين تقصف على مرأى من العالم و مسمعه و يخرج من الخدمة مجبرا في محاولة يائسة لإخماد شعلة الأمل في غزة.و الله كأنها داري إلي إنقصفت و الله غالب على أمره
