Gaza – The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate affirmed that the killing of journalist Ahmed Abu Aisha, a correspondent for Palestine Today TV, constitutes a new crime in the Israeli occupation's dark record against the truth. It is part of a long series of systematic violations targeting Palestinian journalists in an attempt to silence the free voice and obscure the truth.

The Syndicate explained in a statement issued Wednesday that Abu Aisha was directly targeted by Israeli drones while standing in front of his home west of the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, leading to his immediate death. This is a clear and deliberate crime against an unarmed journalist performing his professional and national duty.

The statement added that "the Israeli occupation follows a systematic policy of targeting journalists and media institutions, in flagrant violation of all international and humanitarian laws that guarantee the protection of media professionals during armed conflicts."

The Syndicate called for urgent international action and demanded that the International Criminal Court hold the occupation leaders responsible for these crimes accountable. It emphasized that journalists in Palestine have become targets for murder simply for conveying the truth to the world.

The statement noted that dozens of Palestinian journalists have been killed since the beginning of the aggression, while others have sustained varying degrees of injuries. Dozens of media outlets have been destroyed in a failed attempt to silence the voice of truth.

The Syndicate concluded its statement by saying, "Despite the killing, bombing, and destruction, the Palestinian press will remain free, and our pens and cameras will bear witness to the crimes of the occupation. They will not be broken or intimidated by the machine of war."

غزة– أكدت نقابة الصحفيين الفلسطينيين أن استشهاد الزميل الصحفي أحمد أبو عيشة، مراسل قناة فلسطين اليوم، يشكل جريمة جديدة في سجل الاحتلال الإسرائيلي الأسود ضد الحقيقة، ويأتي ضمن سلسلة طويلة من الانتهاكات الممنهجة التي تستهدف الصحفيين الفلسطينيين في محاولة لإسكات الصوت الحر وتغييب الحقيقة.

وأوضحت النقابة في بيان صدر اليوم الأربعاء، أن الزميل أبو عيشة استُهدف بشكل مباشر من قبل طائرات الاحتلال المسيّرة، بينما كان يقف أمام منزله غرب مخيم النصيرات وسط قطاع غزة، ما أدى إلى استشهاده على الفور، في جريمة واضحة ومتعمدة بحق صحفي أعزل يؤدي واجبه المهني والوطني.

وأضاف البيان أن "الاحتلال الإسرائيلي يتبع سياسة ممنهجة في استهداف الصحفيين والمؤسسات الإعلامية، في انتهاك صارخ لكافة القوانين الدولية والإنسانية التي تكفل الحماية للإعلاميين أثناء النزاعات المسلحة".

ودعت النقابة إلى تحرك دولي عاجل، وطالبت المحكمة الجنائية الدولية بمحاسبة قادة الاحتلال المسؤولين عن هذه الجرائم، مؤكدة أن الصحفيين في فلسطين أصبحوا أهدافًا للقتل لمجرد قيامهم بنقل الحقيقة للعالم.

وأشار البيان إلى أن العشرات من الصحفيين الفلسطينيين ارتقوا منذ بداية العدوان، فيما أصيب آخرون بجروح متفاوتة، وتعرضت عشرات المؤسسات الإعلامية للتدمير، في محاولة فاشلة لإخماد صوت الحقيقة.

واختتمت النقابة بيانها بالقول: "رغم القتل والقصف والتدمير، ستبقى الصحافة الفلسطينية حرة، وستبقى أقلامنا وكاميراتنا شاهدة على جرائم الاحتلال، ولن تنكسر أو تُرهبها آلة الحرب."
