نعى التجمع الإعلامي الفلسطيني الصحفي أحمد أبو عيشة، العامل في وكالة "فلسطين اليوم" الإخبارية، والذي استشهد يوم الخميس جراء استهدافه بقصف صاروخي مباشر من طائرة مسيّرة تابعة لجيش الاحتلال، أمام منزله في منطقة السوارحة غربي مخيم النصيرات وسط قطاع غزة.
وأوضح التجمع أن استشهاد أبو عيشة يرفع عدد الصحفيين الذين قضوا في قطاع غزة منذ السابع من أكتوبر/تشرين الأول 2023 إلى 229 صحفيًا وصحفية، إلى جانب مئات الجرحى والمعتقلين، وتدمير واسع للمؤسسات والمقار الإعلامية.
وأكد التجمع الإعلامي أن ما يتعرض له الصحفيون الفلسطينيون يشكل انتهاكًا جسيمًا للقانون الدولي، مشددًا على أن هذه الاعتداءات تهدف إلى تغييب الحقيقة وطمس الرواية الفلسطينية.
ودعا مختلف الأجسام الإعلامية والحقوقية حول العالم إلى التدخل العاجل لحماية الصحفيين الفلسطينيين، ومحاسبة المسؤولين عن هذه الجرائم، والتحرك الجاد لوقف العدوان المتواصل على قطاع غزة، وملاحقة الاحتلال أمام المحاكم الدولية بتهم تتعلق بارتكاب جرائم حرب بحق الإعلاميين.
