Official Acknowledgment of Doctor's Kidnapping... Yet Justice Still Absent

Urgent | An Israeli court extends the detention of the director of field hospitals in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Marwan al-Hams, until September 11.

With this decision, the occupation officially acknowledges that it is holding Dr. Marwan al-Hams, after kidnapping him while performing his humanitarian duty and visiting the Red Cross representative office.

This detention is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, which prohibits the targeting of medical personnel and guarantees their protection in times of conflict.

بهذا القرار، يعترف الاحتلال رسميًا بأنه يحتجز الطبيب مروان الهمص، بعد أن اختطفه أثناء تأدية واجبه الإنساني وزيارته لممثلية الصليب الأحمر.

إنّ هذا الاعتقال انتهاكٌ صارخ للقانون الدولي الإنساني، الذي يحظر استهداف الكوادر الطبية، ويضمن لهم الحماية في أوقات النزاع.
