Hussam Shabat was an Al Jazeera Mubasher correspondent throughout the war. He covered the events in the Gaza Strip with all the courage the word implies, risking his life to deliver the message and voice of Gaza through Al Jazeera.
After his martyrdom, he became a "collaborating journalist" with Al Jazeera.
Hussam had a contract with Al Jazeera, and this is how the channel mourned him after his martyrdom, unfortunately!

حسام شبات كان مراسل الجزيرة مباشر طوال الحرب، وغطى الأحداث في قطاع غزة بكل ما تحمل الكلمة من شجاعة، مغامرًا بحياته من أجل إيصال الرسالة وصوت غزة عبر قناة الجزيرة.
وبعد استشهاده، أصبح "المراسل الصحفي المتعاون" مع قناة الجزيرة.
حسام كان يمتلك عقدًا مع قناة الجزيرة، وهكذا نَعَتْهُ القناة بعد استشهاده للاسف !
