Israeli forces have attacked at least seven Gaza schools sheltering displaced Palestinians in the last nine days, with the UNRWA Al-Razi School in Nuseirat in central Gaza the latest to be hit.

The Israeli army said it struck the school "based on precise intelligence", targeting "terrorists" who planned attacks against Israeli troops in Gaza.

Palestinian health authorities said at least 23 people were killed in the strike, with 73 others injured
