Hamas considers Israeli attack in Qatar an "assassination of the negotiation process" and holds funeral for its victims

-- On Thursday, Hamas considered the Israeli attack in Qatar on Tuesday an "assassination of the entire negotiation process," accusing the United States of being a "full partner" in it, shortly after the victims of the bombing were laid to rest in Doha with the participation of the Emir of the Gulf state.

An unprecedented Israeli attack in Qatar on Tuesday targeted a building housing the Hamas negotiating delegation, killing six people: the son of one of its senior leaders and chief negotiator, Khalil al-Hayya, his office director and three of his bodyguards, as well as a Qatari security officer.

In a speech in Doha, Hamas leader Fawzi Barhoum said, "This crime was not merely an assassination attempt against the delegation. Rather, it was a bombing and assassination of the entire negotiation process."

He also mentioned that al-Hayya's wife, his martyred son's wife, and his grandchildren were wounded in the attack, without revealing the fate of the movement's leaders who were meeting in the building.

Barhoum accused the United States of being a "full partner" in the Israeli attack. He stated that "the American administration is a full partner in this crime, bearing political and moral responsibility by providing cover and continuous support for the occupation's aggression and its ongoing crimes against our people."

Under heavy security in Doha, funeral prayers were held at the Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque for the victims: five Palestinians and a Qatari security officer. The latter's coffin was draped in the Qatari flag, while the coffins of the other five were draped in Palestinian flags, as shown in the live broadcast on Qatar TV.

The Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, led the prayers and mourners, many of whom wore traditional white robes.

Some roads in Doha were closed, particularly those leading to the vicinity of the mosque, with a heavy deployment of Internal Security Forces (Lekhwiya), whose colleague was killed in the Israeli bombing.

The streets surrounding the mosque experienced severe traffic congestion, as the funeral took place during rush hour in the capital, after the end of the official workday for employees and schools, and before the weekend, which is Friday and Saturday in Qatar. - An anticipated Arab-Islamic conference -

Israel bombed Doha on Tuesday, targeting leaders of Hamas, but the movement said its senior officials survived.

The unprecedented Israeli attack on a Gulf state shattered the calm prevailing in the Gulf region, which prides itself on being an oasis of peace in the turbulent Middle East.

The attack was met with strong condemnation and expressions of solidarity from Gulf countries.

The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a statement on Thursday that "any attack on a member state of the Gulf Cooperation Council is considered an attack on the joint Gulf security system."

For its part, Hamas clarified that the dead included Hammam, the son of the movement's chief negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, his office director Jihad Labbad, and his companions Ahmed Mamlouk, Abdullah Abdul Wahid, and Momen Hassoun.

There was no evidence to suggest that al-Hayya was present at the funeral, according to video footage seen by AFP.

The Qatari security officer killed was Corporal Badr Saad Mohammed al-Humaidi al-Dosari. In an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said he could not confirm the fate of Khalil al-Hayya.

The Prime Minister stated that the attack had ended all hope regarding the hostages in Gaza, emphasizing that Qatar was "reassessing everything" related to its role as a key mediator in the talks between Israel and Hamas.

Doha had hosted several rounds of indirect negotiations between the two sides.

Qatar has hosted the political bureau of the Palestinian movement since 2012, with the blessing of Washington, which sought to maintain a channel of communication with Hamas.

Sheikh Mohammed said he hoped for a collective regional response to the attack and that an Arab-Islamic conference would be held in Doha to decide on the next steps.

حماس تعتبر الهجوم الإسرائيلي في قطر "اغتيالا لمسار التفاوض" وتشيع ضحاياه

اعتبرت حركة حماس الخميس أن الهجوم الإسرائيلي في قطر الثلاثاء بمثابة "اغتيال لمسار التفاوض برمته" متهمة الولايات المتحدة بأنها "شريك كامل" به، بعيد تشييع ضحايا القصف في الدوحة بمشاركة أمير الدولة الخليجية.
استهدف هجوم إسرائيلي غير مسبوق في قطر الثلاثاء مبنى يضم الوفد المفاوض لحماس ما أسفر عن مقتل ستة أشخاص هم نجل أحد كبار قادتها وكبير مفاوضيها خليل الحية، ومدير مكتبه وثلاثة من مرافقيه، بالإضافة إلى رجل أمن قطري.
وقال القيادي بالحركة الفلسطينية فوزي برهوم في كلمة في الدوحة إن "هذه الجريمة لم تكن مجرد محاولة اغتيال للوفد. بل هي قصف واغتيال لمسار التفاوض برمته".
كما أشار إلى "إصابة زوجة (الحية) وزوجة ابنه الشهيد وأحفاده" في الهجوم، من دون أن يكشف مصير قادة الحركة الذين كانوا باجتماع في المبنى.
واتهم برهوم الولايات المتحدة بأنها "شريك كامل" في الهجوم الإسرائيلي.
وصرح أن "الإدارة الأميركية شريك كامل في هذه الجريمة بتحملها المسؤولية السياسية والأخلاقية عبر توفير الغطاء والدعم المتواصل لعدوان الاحتلال وجرائمه المستمرة ضد شعبنا".
ووسط حراسة مشددة في الدوحة، أقيمت صلاة الجنازة في مسجد الإمام محمد بن عبد الوهاب على الضحايا وهم خمسة فلسطينيين وعنصر أمن قطري، ولف نعش الأخير بعلم قطر والخمسة الآخرين بأعلام فلسطين، على ما أظهر البث المباشر لتليفزيون قطر.
وتقدم أمير قطر الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني المصلين والمشيعين وكثير منهم ارتدوا الثوب الأبيض التقليدي.
وأغلقت في الدوحة بعض الطرقات، خصوصا تلك المؤدية إلى محيط المسجد مع انتشار كثيف لقوات الأمن الداخلي (لخويا) الذين ق تل زميلهم في القصف الإسرائيلي.
وشهدت الشوارع المحيطة بالمسجد ازدحامات سير خانقة، إذ أقيم التشييع في وقت الذروة بالعاصمة مع انتهاء دوامات العمل الرسمية للموظفين والمدارس، وقبل عطلة نهاية الأسبوع وهي الجمعة والسبت في قطر.

قصفت إسرائيل الدوحة الثلاثاء مستهدفة قادة في حركة حماس، لكن الحركة قالت إن كبار مسؤوليها نجوا.
عكر الهجوم الإسرائيلي غير المسبوق في بلد خليجي صفو الهدوء السائد في منطقة الخليج التي تفتخر وتروج لنفسها باعتبارها واحة للسلام في الشرق الأوسط المضطرب.
وقوبل الهجوم بإدانة شديدة وتضامن من بلدان الخليج.
وصرحت وزارة الخارجية الإماراتية في بيان الخميس أن "أي اعتداء على دولة عضو في مجلس التعاون الخليجي ي عد اعتداء على منظومة الأمن الخليجي المشترك".
من جهتها، أوضحت حماس أن القتلى هم همام نجل كبير مفاوضي الحركة خليل الحية، ومدير مكتبه جهاد لب اد، إضافة إلى مرافقيه أحمد مملوك وعبد الله عبد الواحد ومؤمن حسون.
ولم تتوفر أي أدلة تشير إلى حضور الحية في الجنازة، بحسب لقطات فيديو اطلعت عليها وكالة فرانس برس.
أما عنصر الأمن القطري الذي قتل فهو الوكيل عريف بدر سعد محمد الحميدي الدوسري.
وفي مقابلة مع محطة "سي إن إن" الأميركية الأربعاء، قال رئيس الوزراء وزير الخارجية القطري الشيخ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني إنه لا يستطيع تأكيد مصير خليل الحية.
واعتبر رئيس الوزراء أن الهجوم أنهى كل أمل بشأن الرهائن في غزة، مؤكدا أن قطر "تعيد تقييم كل شيء" يتعلق بدورها كوسيط رئيسي في المحادثات بين إسرائيل وحماس.
وكانت الدوحة قد استضافت جولات عدة من المفاوضات غير المباشرة بين الطرفين.
وتستضيف قطر المكتب السياسي للحركة الفلسطينية منذ العام 2012 بمباركة من واشنطن التي سعت للإبقاء على قناة اتصال مع حماس.
وقال الشيخ محمد إنه يأمل برد جماعي إقليمي على الهجوم، وأن مؤتمرا عربيا-إسلاميا سيعقد في الدوحة لاتخاذ قرار بشأن الخطوات المقبلة.
وسبق أن د فن رئيس المكتب السياسي السابق لحركة حماس إسماعيل هنية في قطر، بعدما اغتالته إسرائيل في طهران في يوليو 2024.
