Eleven civilians, including six children, all from the same family, were killed when a Turkish drone targeted a house in a village in northern Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported on Monday.

The Observatory said, “Eleven civilians, including six children, all members of the same family, were killed when a Turkish drone targeted a house in the village of al-Mustariha in the countryside of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa, within the Kurdish-controlled areas.”

Meanwhile, a Turkish security source told Reuters on Monday that Syrian opposition groups backed by Ankara had seized control of the city of Manbij in northern Syria.

The city had been under the control of the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and fierce fighting had erupted with Turkish-backed groups in recent days.

The Syrian Observatory also reported that at least 26 fighters were killed on Sunday in an attack by Turkish-backed Syrian factions on neighborhoods in the Kurdish-held city of Manbij.

These rapid developments come a day after the Syrian opposition, led by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, entered Damascus and declared the downfall of President Bashar al-Assad's 24-year regime.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said on Sunday that the new Syrian administration must be inclusive and that the Syrian people will now decide their own future.

At a press conference in Doha, Fidan said that the Syrian people are not in a position to rebuild on their own and that international actors and regional powers must act wisely and preserve Syria's territorial integrity.

He warned that terrorist organizations should not be allowed to exploit the situation.

He added, "The new administration must be established in an orderly manner, the principle of inclusivity must never be compromised, and there must be no desire for revenge... The time has come to unify and rebuild the country."

Turkey has stated that it does not support the opposition's operation in northern Syria and that Assad's refusal to engage in a serious political solution was the reason for his downfall.

Fidan also explained that chemical weapons and related materials must be secured and that Turkey, which is hosting nearly three million displaced Syrians, has begun working on their return.

في غضون ذلك، قال مصدر أمني تركي اليوم الإثنين، لوكالة رويترز، إن جماعات معارضة سورية مدعومة من أنقرة سيطرت على مدينة منبج في شمال سوريا.

وكانت قوات سوريا الديمقراطية المدعومة من الولايات المتحدة تسيطر على المدينة واندلعت معارك عنيفة مع الجماعات المدعومة من تركيا في الأيام القليلة الماضية.

وقد أفاد المرصد السوري بأن 26 مقاتلا على الأقل قتِلوا أمس الأحد في هجوم شنته فصائل سورية مدعومة من تركيا على أحياء في مدينة منبج (شمالي سوريا) تسيطر عليها قوات كردية.

وتأتي هذه التطورات المتسارعة غداة تمكن المعارضة السورية بقيادة هيئة تحرير الشام من دخول دمشق وإعلانها إسقاط نظام الرئيس بشار الأسد الذي استمر 24 عامًا.

وقال وزير الخارجية التركي هاكان فيدان أمس الأحد إن الإدارة السورية الجديدة يجب أن تشمل الجميع وإن الشعب السوري سيقرر الآن مستقبله.

وفي مؤتمر صحفي بالدوحة، قال فيدان إن الشعب السوري ليس في وضع يسمح له بإعادة البناء بمفرده وإن الجهات الفاعلة الدولية والقوى الإقليمية يجب أن تتصرف بحكمة وأن تحافظ على سلامة الأراضي السورية.

وحذر من أنه لا ينبغي السماح للمنظمات الإرهابية باستغلال الوضع.

وأضاف «الإدارة الجديدة يجب أن تتأسس بطريقة منظمة، ويجب عدم المساس بمبدأ الشمولية أبدا، ويجب ألا تكون هناك رغبة في الانتقام... حان الوقت لتوحيد البلاد وإعادة بنائها».

وقالت تركيا إنها لا تدعم العملية التي شنتها المعارضة في شمال سوريا، وإن رفض الأسد الانخراط في حل سياسي جاد كان سببا في سقوطه.

وأوضح فيدان أيضا إنه يتعين تأمين الأسلحة الكيماوية والمواد ذات الصلة وإن تركيا، التي تستضيف نحو ثلاثة ملايين نازح من سوريا، بدأت العمل على عودتهم.
