Woman Killed, Others Injured by Turkish-Backed “National Army” Fire on Qara Qozak Bridge South of Kobani

A woman was killed and three others were injured on Wednesday by gunfire from the Turkish-backed “National Army” on the Qara Qozak Bridge, southwest of Kobani, in northern Syria.

Saleh Barkal reported that his wife, Zahida Ahmed Bozan (50 years old), was killed instantly when the car they were traveling in from Kobani towards Manbij was targeted by factions controlling the other side of the bridge.

He said that his grandson, Jwan Barkal (8 years old), was shot in the shoulder and taken to Kobani Hospital for treatment.

Zuleikha Mohammed, a relative of the family, was shot in the waist, and the family's brother-in-law, Mohammed Othman, sustained minor injuries in the attack.

A doctor at Kobani Hospital told North Press that the injured are in stable condition and are currently under medical observation.

Saleh Barkal added that they were trying to return to their home in Manbij, and were targeted as soon as they crossed the Qara Qozak Bridge.

It is worth noting that dozens of Kurdish families who lived in Manbij were displaced to Kobani after the Turkish-backed "National Army" factions took control of the city.

قُتلت امرأة وأصيب ثلاثة أشخاص آخرين، الأربعاء، برصاص “الجيش الوطني” الموالي لتركيا، على جسر قره قوزاق جنوب غربي كوباني، شمالي سوريا.



وأفاد صالح بركل بأن زوجته زهيدة أحمد بوزان (50 عاماً) فقدت حياتها مباشرة جراء استهداف سيارة كانت تقلهم من كوباني باتجاه منبج، من قبل الفصائل التي تسيطر على الجانب الآخر للجسر.



وقال إن حفيده جوان بركل (8 أعوام) أصيب بطلق ناري في كتفه ونقل إلى مشفى كوباني لتلقي العلاج.






وأصيبت زليخة محمد وهي قريبة العائلة، بطلق ناري في الخصر، كما أصيب صهر العائلة محمد عثمان بجروح خفيفة جراء استهدافهم.



وقال طبيب في مشفى كوباني لنورث برس، إن المصابين بحالة مستقرة وهم تحت المراقبة الطبية الآن.



وأضاف صالح بركل أنهم كانوا يريدون العودة إلى منزلهم في مدينة منبج، وتم استهدافهم فور تجاوزهم  جسر قره قوزاق.



يذكر أن عشرات العائلات الكردية التي كانت تقطن في منبج، نزحت إلى كوباني عقب سيطرة فصائل “الجيش الوطني” الموالي لتركيا على المدينة.
