International Coalition Operation in Jabal al-Bishri Kills ISIS Leaders

International Coalition forces, supported by a group from the Free Syrian Army, carried out an airborne operation targeting a site where ISIS members and leaders were holed up in the Jabal al-Bishri area of western Deir ez-Zor countryside, in areas under the control of the Damascus regime. The operation resulted in the killing of a number of the organization's leaders, while their identities were not revealed. They have not yet been arrested.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the operation came after about a week of intensive aerial and ground surveillance of the area, based on intelligence information indicating an expected meeting of prominent ISIS leaders inside the mountain.

The operation witnessed direct clashes between coalition forces and ISIS elements, amid reports that coalition forces seized documents believed to pertain to the organization's movements and plans deep within the Syrian desert.

وبحسب المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان، جاءت العمـ ـلية بعد نحو أسبوع من الرصد الجـ ـوي والبري المكـ ـثف للمنطقة، استناداً إلى معلومات استـ ـخبـ ـاراتـ ـية تحدثت عن اجتماع مرتقب لقيـ ـاديـ ـين بـ ـارزين في د..ا..عـ ـش داخل الجبل.
وشهدت العمـ ـلية اشتبـ ـاكات مباشرة بين قـ ـوات التحالف وعنـ ـاصـ ـر د..ا..عـ ـش، وسط أنباء عن استـ ـحـ ـواذ قوات التحالف على وثائـ ـق يُعتقد أنها تتعلق بتـ ـحركـ ـات وخـ ـطط الـ ـتـ ـنـ ـظـ ـيم في عمق #البادية_السورية.
