The international coalition forces, in conjunction with the Free Syrian Army, conducted an airdrop operation in the Jabal al-Bishri area of Deir ez-Zor province, targeting a location where ISIS leadership was entrenched.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the operation resulted in the deaths of several ISIS commanders and fighters. The operation involved direct clashes and concluded with the coalition forces seizing documents believed to pertain to the group's movements in the area.
