According to information gathered by the center's staff, at approximately 3:00 PM on Friday, October 17, 2025, Israeli occupation forces targeted a Peugeot pickup truck carrying a family from the Shaaban clan on Salah al-Din Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The attack directly hit the vehicle and injured its occupants. Ambulance and civil defense teams attempted to reach the vehicle but were unable to do so.

On Saturday morning, October 18, 2025, after coordinating with OCHA, civil defense teams recovered the bodies of nine people, including four children and two women. The bodies of two children remain missing, their remains scattered at the scene due to the intensity of the bombing and the difficulty of accessing the remains because of the complex field and environmental conditions in the area.

The victims are: Sufian Shaaban, his wife Samar Muhammad Nasser Shaaban, and their children Karam (10 years old), Anas (8 years old), and Nasma (12 years old); and Ihab Muhammad Nasser Abu Shaaban (38 years old), his wife Randa Majed Muhammad Shaaban (36 years old), and their children Nasser (13 years old), Jumana (10 years old), Ibrahim (6 years old), and Muhammad (5 years old).

According to information available to the center's staff, the family was attempting to travel from the southern Gaza Strip to Gaza City in a vehicle with a convertible top, indicating their civilian appearance. Despite this, they were targeted by the occupying forces.

ووفق المعلومات التي جمعها طاقم المركز، عند حوالي الساعة 15:00 من يوم الجمعة الموافق 17/10/2025، قصفت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي مركبة من نوع “تندر بيجو” تقل أسرة من عائلة شعبان أثناء تواجدها في شارع صلاح الدين بحي الزيتون شرق مدينة غزة. أسفر القصف عن إصابة المركبة بشكل مباشر وإصابة من فيها، وحاولت طواقم الإسعاف والدفاع المدني الوصول إليها، لكن تعذّر ذلك.

وتمكنت طواقم الدفاع المدني، صباح يوم السبت الموافق 18/10/2025، بعد التنسيق مع منظمة الأوتشا، من انتشال جثامين تسعة قتلى، من بينهم أربعة أطفال وسيدتان، فيما لا تزال جثتا طفلين مفقودتين، بعد أن تناثرت أشلاؤهما في المكان نتيجة شدة القصف، وصعوبة الوصول إلى بقايا الجثامين بسبب الأوضاع الميدانية والبيئية المعقدة في المنطقة.

القتلى هم: سفيان شعبان، وزوجته سمر محمد ناصر شعبان، وأطفالهما كرم (10 سنوات)، وأنس (8 سنوات)، ونسمة (12 عامًا)، وإيهاب محمد ناصر أبو شعبان (38 سنة)، وزوجته رندة ماجد محمد شعبان (36 سنة)، وأطفالهما ناصر (13 عامًا)، وجمانة (10 أعوام)، وإبراهيم (6 سنوات)، ومحمد (5 سنوات).

ووفق المعلومات التي توفرت لطاقم المركز، فإن الأسرة كانت تحاول الانتقال من جنوب القطاع إلى مدينة غزة، وكانت تستقل مركبة مكشوفة السقف في جزئها الخلفي، ما يعني أن مظهرها المدني كان واضحًا، ورغم ذلك استهدفتها القوات المحتلة.
