Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) — The Arab League issued a statement Friday condemning the Israeli military operation in the Beit Jinn area of rural Damascus.

This came in a statement issued by the Arab League and published on its official website, which read: "The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemns the blatant Israeli aggression against the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside, which occurred at dawn today, November 28, and resulted in the deaths of a number of innocent civilians."

The Arab League continued: "While condemning the ongoing Israeli violations and attacks on Syria, and Israel's incursions into the buffer zone and adjacent areas, in flagrant violation of international law and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement, it calls upon the international community, represented by the Security Council and the forces working for peace in the Middle East, to fulfill their responsibilities..."

For his part, Avichai Adraee, the Israeli army spokesperson for Arab media, posted videos and photos on his X (formerly Twitter) page, commenting: "Body camera footage during the clash in the village of Beit Jinn in Syria: a close-quarters engagement and the arrest of terrorists... During the night, the 210th Division completed an operation to arrest three terrorists belonging to the Islamic Group in southern Syria... During the operation, the forces engaged in a close-quarters, face-to-face clash with the terrorists." "And they were eliminated."

Adraee explained in a video posted separately, providing some details about the operation and the targets.

(Credit: AFP via Getty Images) The Arab League called on the international community "to curb this Israeli aggression and impunity towards Syria and the entire region, to stop the policies of sowing discord and fueling conflicts, and to compel Israel to halt these attacks and immediately withdraw from the Syrian territories it occupied after December 8, 2024."

دبي، الإمارات العربية المتحدة (CNN)—عقّبت جامعة الدول العربية، الجمعة، على العملية التي نفذها الجيش الإسرائيلي في منطقة بيت جن في ريف العاصمة، دمشق، مؤكدة "إدانتها الشديدة".

جاء ذلك في بيان للجامعة العربية نشرته على موقعها الرسمي وورد فيه: "تدين الأمانة العامة لجامعة الدول العربية بشدة العدوان الإسرائيلي السافر على بلدة بيت جن بريف دمشق والذي وقع فجر اليوم 28 نوفمبر الجاري، وأسفر عن سقوط عدد من الضحايا والمدنيين الأبرياء".

وتابعت: "وإذ تندد جامعة الدول العربية بالانتهاكات والاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المتواصلة على سوريا، وما تقوم به إسرائيل من توغلات داخل المنطقة العازلة والمناطق المجاورة، في انتهاك سافر للقانون الدولي واتفاق فض الاشتباك لعام 1974، فإنها تدعو المجتمع الدولي ممثلاً في مجلس الأمن والقوي العاملة من أجل السلام في الشرق الاوسط للقيام بمسؤولياتهم.."


من جهته نشر المتحدث باسم الجيش الإسرائيلي للإعلام العربي، أفيخاي أدرعي، مقاطع فيديو وصور بتدوينة على صفحته بمنصة إكس (تويتر سابقا) قائلا بتعليق: "مشاهد من كاميرات الجسم خلال الاشتباك في قرية بيت جن بسوريا: اشتباك من مسافة صفر واعتقال الإرهابيين.. خلال ساعات الليلة الماضية استكملت قوات الفرقة 210 عملية لاعتقال ثلاثة مخربين ينتمون إلى تنظيم الجماعة الإسلامية في جنوب سوريا.. خلال العملية خاضت القوات اشتباكًا من مسافة قريبة وجهاً لوجه مع مخربين وقضت عليهم".


وأوضح أدرعي بفيديو نشره بتدوينة منفصلة مقدما بعض التفاصيل عن العملية والمستهدفين.

ودعت الجماعة العربية المجتمع الدولي "للجم هذا التغول والانفلات الاسرائيلي ازاء سوريا وفي المنطقة بأسرها، والتوقف عن سياسات زرع الفتن وتأجيج الصراعات، وحمل اسرائيل على وقف هذه الاعتداءات والانسحاب الفوري من الأراضي السورية التي احتلتها بعد 8 ديسمبر 2024".
