"Massacre of the Sleeping": Testimonies from Beit Jinn, Syria, After Israeli Bombing
According to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) and local media, several survivors recounted the events.

Syrian local and official media outlets reported shocking testimonies from several survivors and those injured in the town of Beit Jinn in the Damascus countryside, following the Israeli aggression that began with a ground incursion at dawn on Friday, followed by heavy aerial and artillery bombardment.

According to residents' testimonies, the attack occurred while the population was asleep, resulting in at least 15 deaths and a number of injuries. The intense bombardment caused widespread panic and a mass exodus to neighboring areas.

**Targeting the Sleeping

One of the wounded told the "Syria Now" news platform that the attack began around 4:00 AM while residents were asleep. They awoke to the sounds of shelling and clashes.

He explained that the residents and young people were surprised by the Israeli forces, who entered under the pretext of targeting smugglers—claims that were completely false. It was clear they "wanted to kill us."

The young Syrian man, who asked not to give his name, added that the residents showed "simple popular resistance" to repel the enemy, despite not possessing weapons.

He noted that his brother was "martyred, while he himself was wounded" as a result of the Israeli aggression. He explained, "This is the third or fourth time the Israeli army has attacked us and prevented us from going to our land."

**Return of Terror

One woman told Syria TV, without giving her name, that the attack brought back the "feelings of fear" that residents had experienced during the years under the ousted regime. She indicated that rescue teams worked to extract those trapped under the rubble.

She added that several homes were destroyed or severely damaged, and that among the residents were children and people with disabilities, forcing many families to flee again.

She asked, indignantly and frustrated by their situation, "Where will we go? We saw people fleeing their homes... How long will this continue?"

**Destruction of Homes**

Another eyewitness told SANA news agency, on condition of anonymity, that "the Israeli enemy raided homes and bombed houses where children, women, and young men were present."

The witness estimated the initial death toll from the Israeli aggression on Beit Jinn at "15 martyrs," saying that he participated with the town's residents in pulling victims from under the rubble.

He indicated that all families fled the town for fear of the bombing, heading towards the Beit Jinn farm area to the south.

**Devastating Escalation**

An elderly man gave a detailed account of the incident, explaining to SANA that "an Israeli force came from the mountain to the village" and took three people from their homes.

He indicated that relatives of the detainees were "exposed to Israeli forces," to which Israel responded with "missiles and airstrikes," causing damage and structural cracks in more than 40 homes.

The elderly Syrian man, whose name was not mentioned by the agency, confirmed that more than 15 people were killed "while they were sleeping in their beds."

** Targeting the Unarmed

Another young man from Beit Jinn confirmed that the Israeli raid on the town began "at 3:30 AM," targeting homes and civilians, where "they killed and captured young men."

Speaking to SANA, he emphasized, without giving his name, that some of the dead were civilians "unarmed and without anything in their possession," as they were killed while walking in the street.

Meanwhile, a resident of the town noted that "Israeli enemy" forces stormed Beit Jinn at 3:30 AM, "targeting unarmed civilians," and captured three young men from the town.

An Israeli patrol entered the town at dawn on Friday, leading to an armed clash with residents that resulted in injuries to six Israeli soldiers. This prompted Tel Aviv to launch an airstrike in retaliation against the residents who attempted to defend their town.

The Israeli aggression against the town comes amid Tel Aviv's disregard for the significance of Friday for Muslims, a day of rest and a weekend holiday, which Syrians typically dedicate to going to mosques and visiting relatives.

The town of Beit Jann is located on the slopes of Mount Hermon, approximately 10 kilometers from the border separating the occupied Golan Heights from Israel, placing it within the immediate operational range.

It has been repeatedly subjected to various Israeli military operations, including aerial and artillery bombardments and temporary ground incursions.

نقلت وسائل إعلام محلية ورسمية سورية شهادات صادمة لعدد من الناجين والمصابين في بلدة بيت جن بريف دمشق، عقب العدوان الإسرائيلي الذي بدأ بتوغل بري فجر الجمعة وتلاه قصف جوي ومدفعي كثيف.

ووفق شهادات الأهالي، فإن الهجوم وقع بينما كان السكان نياما، ما أسفر عن سقوط ما لا يقل عن 15 قتيلا وعدد من الجرحى، وأدى إلى حالة من الهلع ونزوح جماعي نحو المناطق المجاورة بسبب شدة القصف.

** استهداف النيام

أفاد أحد المصابين لمنصة "سوريا الآن" الإخبارية بأن الهجوم بدأ حوالي الساعة الرابعة فجرا عندما كان الأهالي نياما، حيث استيقظوا على أصوات القصف والاشتباكات.

وأوضح أن الأهالي والشباب فوجئوا بالقوات الإسرائيلية التي دخلت بزعم وجود مهربين وهي مزاعم عارية عن الصحة ومن الواضح أنها كانت "تريد أن تقتلنا".

وأضاف الشاب السوري للمنصة، دون ذكر اسمه، أن الأهالي أظهروا "مقاومة شعبية بسيطة" لصد العدو رغم عدم امتلاكهم السلاح.

ولفت إلى أن أخاه "استشهد فيما أصيب هو بجروح" نتيجة العدوان الإسرائيلي، موضحا أن "هذه ثالث أو رابع مرة، يعتدي الجيش الإسرائيلي علينا ويحرموننا من الذهاب إلى أراضينا".

** عودة الرعب

وقالت إحدى السيدات لتلفزيون سوريا، دون ذكر اسمها، إن الهجوم أعاد إلى السكان "مشاعر الخوف" التي عاشوها خلال السنوات الماضية في عهد النظام المخلوع، مشيرة إلى أن فرق الإنقاذ عملت على إخراج العالقين من تحت الأنقاض.

وأضافت أن منازل عدة دُمّرت أو تضررت بشدة، وأن بين السكان من هم من الأطفال وذوي الإعاقة، ما دفع عائلات عديدة إلى النزوح مجددا.

وتساءلت مستنكرة ومحبطة من الحالة التي وقعوا فيها قائلة "إلى أين سنذهب؟ رأينا الناس تنزح من منازلها.. إلى متى سيستمر هذا الوضع؟".

** دمار البيوت

شاهد عيان آخر قال لوكالة أنباء "سانا"، دون ذكر اسمه، إن "العدو الإسرائيلي داهم المنازل وقصف بيوتا فيها أطفال ونساء وشبان".

وقدّر الشاهد الحصيلة الأولية للعدوان الإسرائيلي على بيت جن بـ "15 شهيدا"، قائلا إنه شارك مع أهالي البلدة بسحب الضحايا من تحت الأنقاض.

وأشار إلى أن جميع العائلات نزحت خارج البلدة خوفا من القصف، متجهة نحو منطقة مزرعة بيت جن جنوبا.

** تصعيد مدمّر

قدم مسن رواية مفصلة للحادثة، موضحاً لوكالة سانا أن "قوة إسرائيلية أتت من الجبل إلى القرية"، واقتادت ثلاثة أشخاص من بيوتهم.

وأشار إلى أن أقارب المعتقلين "تعرضوا للقوة الإسرائيلية"، حيث ردت إسرائيل بـ "الصواريخ والطيران" ما أدى إلى إحداث دمار وتصدعات في أكثر من 40 منزلا.

وأكد المسن السوري، لم تذكر الوكالة اسمه، أن أكثر من 15 قتيلاً سقطوا "وهم بفرشهم نيام".

** استهداف العُزل

شاب آخر من بيت جن أكد أن الاقتحام الإسرائيلي البلدة بدأ "الساعة 3 ونصف صباحا" للبيوت والمدنيين، حيث "قتلوا وأسروا شبابا".

وشدد في حديث لوكالة سانا، دون ذكر اسمه، على أن بعض القتلى مدنيون "لا يحملون سلاحا ولا أي شيء"، حيث تم قتلهم أثناء سيرهم في الشارع.

فيما لفت رجل من أهل البلدة إلى أن قوات "العدو الإسرائيلي" اقتحمت بيت جن الساعة الثالثة والنصف فجرا "واستهدفت المدنيين العزل" وأسرت ثلاثة شبان من البلدة.

وكانت دورية إسرائيلية توغلت بالبلدة فجر الجمعة، ما أدى إلى وقوع اشتباك مسلح مع الأهالي، تسبب بإصابة 6 عسكريين إسرائيليين، ما دفع بتل أبيب إلى شن عدوان جوي انتقاما من السكان الذي حاولوا الدفاع عن بلدتهم.

ويأتي العدوان الإسرائيلي على البلدة، وسط تجاهل تل أبيب لمكانة يوم الجمعة عند المسلمين، كما أن هذا اليوم عطلة نهاية الأسبوع، حيث يخصصه السوريون للذهاب إلى المساجد وزيارة الأقارب.

وتقع بلدة بيت جن على سفوح جبل الشيخ وعلى بعد حوالي 10 كيلومترات فقط من الحدود الفاصلة مع الجولان المحتل وإسرائيل، مما يجعلها ضمن النطاق العملياتي القريب.

وقد تعرضت بشكل متكرر لعمليات عسكرية إسرائيلية متنوعة تشمل القصف الجوي والمدفعي والتوغل البري المؤقت.
