Israeli Occupation Forces Commit Horrific Massacre in Beit Jinn, Rural Damascus

Israeli occupation forces launched a heinous attack on the town of Beit Jinn in the southwestern Damascus countryside, committing a massacre that left 13 martyrs and approximately 25 wounded.

Among the martyrs killed in the Israeli bombardment were: Abdullah Kasahout, Ismail Kasahout, Qassem Hamada, Abdo Hamada, Muhammad Hamada, Basel Kamal, Hassan Abdul-Razzaq al-Saadi, Muhammad Daabous, Heba Khalil Abu Daher, Muhammad Akasha, and Hussam al-Samman.

Following the attack, dozens of families fled the town to neighboring villages, fearing further attacks on Beit Jinn. Meanwhile, residents mourned their martyrs and transported the wounded to the nearest available hospitals.

Residents of Beit Jann confirmed that there were no non-Syrian fighters in the entire area and that they had no desire to fight the occupation. They emphasized that they did not go to the occupation forces; rather, the occupation forces came to them and threatened their security and stability, which is why the confrontation occurred. “It is inconceivable that the occupation forces can storm our villages and towns, arrest our young men, and we remain silent,” they stated.

For his part, the mayor of Beit Jann, Abdul Rahman al-Hamrawi, told Agence France-Presse that the Israeli occupation army had entered Beit Jann to arrest three young men from the town, leading to clashes with residents who tried to resist the incursion.

Following this, the Israeli occupation forces shelled the village with drones and artillery, according to the mayor.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee strongly condemns this blatant and unjustified aggression against a sovereign state, which aims to destabilize the region, turning the anniversary of the battle to repel the aggression into a day of mourning. This demonstrates the occupation government's disregard for international law and the UN Charter, which prohibits aggression against a sovereign state without justification and mandates resorting to political solutions when justification exists.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee strongly condemns this blatant and unjustified aggression against a sovereign state, which aims to destabilize the region, turns the celebration of the anniversary of the battle to repel the aggression into mourning, and demonstrates the occupation government's disregard for international law and the UN Charter, which prohibits aggression against a sovereign state without justification and stipulates that, in cases of justification, political solutions must be pursued.

The Syrian Human Rights Committee calls on the international community to rein in the unchecked actions of the occupying government and to stand against its ongoing aggression against Syrian territory, demanding a return to the pre-November 27, 2014 borders and respect for the 1974 Armistice Agreement.

جيش الاحتلال يرتكب مجزرة مروعة في بيت جن بريف دمشق

قامت مرحيات جيش الاحتلال الصهيوني باعتداء أثيم على بلدة بيت جن بريف دمشق الجنوبي الغربي وارتكبت مجزرة راح ضحيتها 13 شهيداً ونحو 25 إصابة.

ومن بين الشهداء الذين سقطوا بقصف الاحتلال: “عبد الله كسحوت، اسماعيل كسحوت، قاسم حمادة، عبدو حمادة، محمد حمادة، باسل كمال، حسن عبد الرزاق السعدي، محمد دعبوس، هبة خليل أبو ظاهر، محمد عكاشة، حسام السمان”.

ووإثر ذلك نزحت العشرات من العائلات من البلدة إلى القرى المجاورة، خوفاً من تكرار القصف على بيت جن، في الوقت الذي شيع الأهالي شهداءهم ونقل الجرحى إلى أقرب المشافي المتاحة.

وأكد سكان بيت جن عدم وجود أي مقاتلين غير سوريين في المنطقة كلها، وأنهم لا يرغبون بقتال الاحتلال، مع تشديدهم أنهم لم يذهبوا إليه بل هو من جاء إليهم وهدد أمنهم واستقرارهم ولذلك حصلت المواجهة، “ليس من المعقول أن يقتحم الاحتلال قرانا وبلداتنا ويعتقل شبابنا ونبقى ساكتين”.

من جانبه، صرح مختار بيت جن عبد الرحمن الحمراوي لوكالة الصحافة الفرنسية إن جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي توغل إلى بيت جن لاعتقال 3 شبان من أبنائها، مما أدى إلى اشتباكات مع السكان الذين حاولوا التصدي لعملية التوغل.

وإثر ذلك، قصفت قوات الاحتلال الإسرائيلي عبر مسيّرات وبالمدفعية القرية، وفق مختار البلدة.

إن اللجنة السورية لحقوق الإنسان تدين بشدة هذا العدوان السافر وغير المبرر على دولة ذات سيادة والذي يهدف إلى زعزعة الاستقرار، ويحول الفرح بالذكرى السنوية لمعركة رد العدوان إلى مأتم، ويوضح لامبالاة حكومة الاحتلال بالقانون الدولي وميثاق الأمم المتحدة الذي يمنع الاعتداء على دولة ذات سيادة دون مبرر وفي حال وجود مبرر اللجوء إلى الحلول السياسية.

وتطالب اللجنة السورية لحقوق الإنسان المجتمع الدولي بكبح جماح حكومة الاحتلال المنفلت والوقوف في وجه اعتداءاته المستمرة على الأراضي السورية والعودة إلى حدود ما قبل السابع والعشرين من تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2024 واحترام اتفاقية الهدنة لعام 1974.
