I'll tell you a little about Amjad, my sister's husband. I don't recall him ever missing a congregational prayer under any circumstances, or missing fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, or any of the voluntary fasts. He frequently remembers God and seeks forgiveness.

He observes i'tikaf (seclusion in the mosque) during the last ten days of Ramadan every year. I've never heard him utter a single inappropriate word or use a foul language. When the war began, he had sold his car a few days prior, using the proceeds to support the war effort. He also donated a fixed amount every day until he had spent the entire sum. A man like this deserves a blessed end, and he is in a state of prostration. Your wife and children are my responsibility, brother, as long as I live. Don't worry about them; sleep well and rest.

فكان يصرف في الحرب من ثمنها وكان يتبرع
بمبلغ ثابت كل يوم في الحرب حتى
صرف المبلغ كاملا ..
رجل مثل هذا يستحق خاتمة الاصطفاء
وهو ساجد ...
زوجتك وأولادك في رقبتي يخوي طول
