The international coalition arrested two individuals today in the village of Rabi'a in the Hasakah countryside. They were identified as brothers Saad and Musa'id al-Khashan. The brothers, Iraqi nationals, had been residing with relatives on the Syrian side of the border for some time and are former members of ISIS. It is important to note that the force involved in the operation was the Counter-Terrorism Teams (CTGs) of the Peshmerga forces of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and not Iraqi forces affiliated with the Baghdad government.
