Brigadier General Ahmed al-Dalati, Commander of Internal Security in Rif Dimashq Governorate, stated:

Our specialized units, in cooperation with the General Intelligence Directorate and the International Coalition forces, conducted a precise security operation targeting a hideout of the ISIS terrorist organization in the city of al-Mu'adhamiyah in Rif Dimashq Governorate. This operation followed meticulous surveillance and intensive intelligence gathering.

The operation resulted in the arrest of the terrorist organization's leader in Damascus (the governor of Damascus), Taha al-Zoubi, also known as "Abu Omar Tabiyah," along with several of his aides. A suicide belt and a military weapon were seized from him. This constitutes a major blow to the organization and confirms the high level of readiness of our security forces to confront any threat to the security of the governorate and its surrounding areas.

We send a clear message to anyone who dares to engage in terrorism or offer assistance to ISIS: the hand of justice will reach them wherever they may be, and they will find no refuge on our land. The security of Syria is a red line, and we will continue to strike with an iron fist until the complete eradication of the remnants of terrorism and their hideouts.

قائد الأمن الداخلي في محافظة ريف دمشق، العميد أحمد الدالاتي:
نفذت وحداتنا المختصة بالتعاون مع جهاز الاستخبارات العامة وقوات التحالف الدولي، عملية أمنية محكمة استهدفت أحد أوكار تنظيم داعش الإرهابي في مدينة المعضمية بمحافظة ريف دمشق، وذلك عقب عمليات متابعة دقيقة ورصد استخباراتي مكثف.
وقد أسفرت العملية عن إلقاء القبض على متزعم التنظيم الارهابي في دمشق (والي دمشق) والمدعو طه الزعبي والملقب "أبو عمر طبية"، وعدد من مساعديه، وضبط حزام ناسف وسلاح حربي بحوزته، ما يُعدّ ضربة قاصمة للتنظيم، ويؤكد الجاهزية العالية لأجهزتنا الأمنية في مواجهة أي تهديد يطال أمن المحافظة ومحيطها.
ونُوجّه من هنا رسالة واضحة لكل من تسوّل له نفسه الانخراط في مشروع الإرهاب، أو تقديم يد العون لتنظيم داعش، بأن يد العدالة ستطالهم حيثما كانوا، ولن يكون لهم مأوى في أرضنا. أمن سوريا خط أحمر، وسنواصل الضرب بيد من حديد حتى القضاء الكامل على فلول الإرهاب وأوكاره.
