Twelve-year-old Karim Abdel Wadoud Al-Madhoun went out to collect firewood.

He had special needs and carried nothing but a bag to help him gather wood. Little did he know that approaching that place could mean approaching his end.

Near the occupation forces' positions, he was shot.

Karim fell there, and his family remained… waiting.

The Al-Madhoun family asks for nothing more than their basic right: to have their son back, to hold him one last time, and to bury him with the dignity befitting a child who knew nothing of the world but war and death.

The Al-Madhoun family demands that the Red Cross and Civil Defense teams be allowed to retrieve his body, so he can return to his family instead of remaining lying in the road.

This is a purely humanitarian plea:

Let Karim return… even if only for the last time.

الطفل كريم عبد الودود المدهون، اثنا عشر عام خرج ليجمع الحطب.
وهو من ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، لم يكن يحمل في يديه سوى كيس يعينه على جمع الأخشاب ولم يكن يعرف أن الاقتراب من ذلك المكان قد يكون اقتراباً من نهايته.
قرب مناطق تمركز قوات الاحتلال، أُطلق عليه النار.
سقط كريم هناك، وبقيت عائلته هنا… تنتظر.
لا تطلب عائلة المدهون أكثر من حقها الطبيعي: أن تستعيد ابنها، أن تضمه مرة أخيرة، وأن تواريه الثرى كما يليق بطفل لم يعرف من الدنيا سوى الحرب والقتل.
تطالب عائلة المدهون بالسماح لطواقم الصليب الأحمر والدفاع المدني بانتشاله، ليعود إلى أهله بدل أن يبقى جسده ملقى على الطريق
هذا نداء إنساني خالص:
دعوا كريم يعود… ولو للمرة الأخيرة.
