Note: The next CJTF-OIR Strike Release will be published on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017. From this point forward, in accordance with current operational tempo, CJTF-OIR Strike Releases will be published on Mondays and Fridays. Strikes conducted on Friday through Sunday will be reported every Monday. Strikes conducted on Monday through Thursday will be reported every Friday. Our intent is to reduce the number of reports while maintaining transparency with the international community.
SOUTHWEST ASIA – Between Nov. 4 and Nov. 5, 2017, Coalition military forces conducted 14 strikes consisting of 33 engagements against ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
On Nov. 5, in Syria, Coalition forces conducted six strikes consisting of seven engagements against ISIS targets.
• Near Abu Kamal, four strikes [1 British?] engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed three ISIS missiles.
• Near Dayr Az Zawr, two strikes destroyed an ISIS line of communication and a fighting position.
On Nov. 5, in Iraq, Coalition forces conducted one strike consisting of two engagements against ISIS targets.
• Near Qayyarah, one strike destroyed two weapons caches.
On Nov. 4, in Syria, Coalition forces conducted six strikes consisting of 23 engagements against ISIS targets.
• Near Abu Kamal, two strikes engaged two ISIS tactical units and destroyed two ISIS-held buildings, a command and control node, a weapons cache and an ISIS motorcycle.
• Near Dayr Az Zawr, four strikes engaged three ISIS tactical units and destroyed four fighting positions, two lines of communication, three ISIS vehicles, two fighting positions, a VBIED and an explosive hazard.
On Nov. 4, in Iraq, Coalition forces conducted one strike consisting of one engagement against ISIS targets.
• Near Al Qaim, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS-held building.
Additionally, 11 strikes consisting of 12 engagements were conducted in Syria on Nov. 3, 2017.
• Near Abu Kamal, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit.
• Near Al Shaddadi, one strike engaged an ISIS tactical unit and destroyed an ISIS fighting position.
• Near Dayr Az Zawr, nine strikes engaged eight ISIS tactical units and destroyed five explosive hazards, four ISIS fighting positions, a command and control center and an ISIS motorcycle.
