The U.S. African Command (AFRICOM) has carried out airstrikes targeting Al-Shabaab fighters in the Middle Shabelle region, southern Somalia, according to a statement from AFRICO M.








The strikes took place near Nur Dugle, about 135 miles northeast of Mogadishu.








“AFRICOM, in coor dination with the Federal Government of Somalia and the Somali National Army, continues its efforts to degrade Al-S habaab’s capability to threaten the U.S. , its forces, and our citizens abroad,” the statement read.
