The Somali National Armed Forces have recaptured the strategic town of Hawadley in Hirshabelle State on Wednesday, the Defence Ministry confirmed.
Hawadley fell into the hands of Al-Shabaab in June 2025 while the AUSSOM Burundian contingent and Somali troops withdrew.
