A camp located within the Erbil governorate was attacked by drones on Tuesday morning, resulting in one injury.

According to information obtained by BasNews, three drones carried out the attack on Tuesday morning, targeting the Azadi camp in the Koya district of Erbil.

The same sources reported that the attack injured one person, but no further details have yet been released regarding their condition or the extent of the material damage.

The Azadi camp houses Kurdish refugees from Iranian Kurdistan.

This incident comes amidst a recent escalation in drone attacks targeting various areas of the Kurdistan Region, following the Israeli and US attacks on Iran. These attacks have heightened regional tensions and their security implications for Iraq in general and the Kurdistan Region in particular.

وأفادت معلومات حصلت عليها (باسنيوز)، أن هجوماً نُفّذ، صباح اليوم الثلاثاء، بواسطة ثلاث طائرات مسيّرة استهدف مخيم آزادي الواقع ضمن حدود قضاء كويه التابع للعاصمة أربيل.
ووفق المعطيات ذاتها، أدى الهجوم إلى إصابة شخص واحد بجروح، دون صدور تفاصيل إضافية حتى الآن بشأن حالته الصحية أو حجم الأضرار المادية.
ويُعد مخيم آزادي أحد المخيمات التي تأوي لاجئين كورد من كوردستان إيران.
ويأتي هذا التطور في سياق تصاعد الهجمات بالطائرات المسيّرة التي طالت مناطق متفرقة من إقليم كوردستان خلال الفترة الأخيرة، وذلك عقب الهجمات التي شنّتها إسرائيل والولايات المتحدة على إيران، وسط تصاعد التوترات الإقليمية وانعكاساتها الأمنية على العراق عموماً وإقليم كوردستان على وجه الخصوص.
