A Bangladeshi expatriate from Gafargaon in Mymensingh, Abdullah Al Mamun, 35, has died after being injured in a missile attack in Al Kharj, Saudi Arabia.
Mamun was the son of Abdus Shahid Soudagar from Bharbhara village under Rasulpur Union of the upazila.
His father confirmed the death to Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday.
According to him, the incident occurred on March 8, just before iftar, when a missile exploded at a workers’ camp of Al Towaik Baladia Company in Al Kharj, leaving Mamun critically injured. He was later admitted to Dr Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital in the same city, where he remained on life support.
Doctors declared him dead at around 11:30pm on Tuesday. His body is currently in Al Kharj.
Mamun, who is survived by a child, leaves behind a grieving family.
