Among the 20 Indian nationals repatriated was 37-year-old Santhanasilvam Krishnan, a resident of Muthukulatur, Ramanathapuram, who died in a drone strike. The other 19 were victims of various recent incidents, as well as those who died of natural causes, whose repatriation had been delayed due to a territorial dispute.
