(CNN) – Authorities in Dubai announced Tuesday that they were responding to an incident involving debris falling on several residential homes in southern Dubai, resulting in injuries to four people.

The Dubai Media Office stated on its Twitter account: "Authorities have confirmed that they are responding to an incident involving debris falling on several residential homes in southern Dubai."

The office added that the incident caused "damage to homes and four minor injuries to people of Asian nationality."

The office had previously announced that "the sounds heard in various areas of the Emirate of Dubai were the result of successful interceptions by air defenses," and urged "the public to obtain information from official sources."

وقال المكتب الإعلامي لحكومة دبي عبر صفحته على "إكس"، تويتر سابقًا: "أكدت الجهات المختصة أنه يتم التعامل مع حادث ناتج عن سقوط شظايا على عدد من المنازل السكنية في جنوبي دبي".

وأردف المكتب قائلًا إن الحادث تسبب بـ"أضرار بالمنازل و4 إصابات بسيطة لأشخاص من الجنسية الآسيوية". 

وكان المكتب قد أعلن في وقت سابق أن "الاصوات المسموعة في مناطق مختلفة في إمارة دبي هي نتيجة الاعتراضات الناجحة للدفاعات الجوية"، ودعا "الجمهور إلى استقاء المعلومات من مصادرها الرسمية".
