Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, paid a working visit to the UAE and checked on the welfare of Ghanaians living there.
During the visit, he met Philip Degbevi, who has fully recovered after sustaining injuries from a missile attack at Dubai Airport. All three Ghanaians affected by the recent Middle East conflict in the UAE are reported to be recovering well.
The Government of Ghana commended UAE authorities for their support to the victims and reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring adequate compensation for those affected. It also reiterated its resolve to provide consular assistance and support to Ghanaians in the Gulf during this period of heightened tensions.
Engagements were also held with leaders of the Ghanaian community, assuring them of government solidarity. About 60,000 Ghanaians reside in the UAE, working across sectors including aviation, engineering, education, business, domestic services, and hospitality.
The efforts of Ghana’s Ambassador and Consul General in the UAE were also acknowledged for their dedication and service.
