Ali Allama, a barber from the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, remained steadfast in his village, offering free haircuts to those who stayed behind. He had done so previously during the July War of 2006 and the earlier war on Lebanon. In a video interview, he said:

"Each of us has a role to play, and if life is about eating and drinking, then I eat and drink."

He was killed by Israel again today in Deir Qanoun al-Nahr.

علي علامة، حلّاق من بلدة دير قانون النهر، بقي صامدًا في قريته، يحلق لمن بقي معه مجانًا. سبق أن فعل ذلك خلال حرب تموز 2006، وخلال الحرب الموسّعة السابقة على لبنان. يقول في مقابلة مصورة معه:

"لكل منا دور يؤديه، وإذا الحياة أكل وشرب أنا آكل وأشرب".
