The Israeli occupation army deliberately and directly targeted ambulance and rescue teams after they arrived at the site of an airstrike it had carried out on the town of Mayfadoun in Nabatieh. When two teams from the Islamic Scout Association and the Nabatieh Ambulance Association arrived at the scene of the first airstrike, they were targeted by a second strike, resulting in the deaths of paramedics Fadl Sarhan and Mahdi Abu Zeid, and injuries to other colleagues.

This is not the first time the occupation army has deliberately targeted ambulance teams with double-tap airstrikes to kill rescue workers. The occupation justifies these crimes in advance by claiming that Hezbollah uses ambulances. The latest statistics issued by the Ministry of Health yesterday indicated that Israel has killed 88 members of the health sector since the start of its aggression against Lebanon on March 2nd.

استهدف جيش الاحتلال الإسرائيلي فرق الإسعاف والإنقاذ، بشكل مباشر ومتعمّد، بعد وصولها إلى مكان غارة نفّذها على بلدة ميفدون في النبطية. فعند وصول فريقَين من كشّافة الرسالة الإسلامية وجمعية إسعاف النبطية إلى مكان الغارة الأولى، استهدفتهم غارة ثانية، ما أدّى إلى استشهاد المسعفَين فضل سرحان ومهدي أبو زيد، وإصابة زملاء آخرين لهما.
ليست هذه المرة الأولى التي يتعمّد فيها جيش الاحتلال استهداف فرق الإسعاف بغارات «دوبل تاب» لقتل عناصر الإنقاذ، ويبرّر الاحتلال هذه الجرائم مسبقاً بزعم أنّ حزب الله يستخدم آليات الإسعاف. وكان آخر إحصاء صادر عن وزارة الصحة قد أشار أمس إلى أنّ إسرائيل قتلت 88 من طواقم القطاع الصحي، منذ بدء العدوان على لبنان في 2 آذار الماضي.
