The residents of Burj al-Shamali camp in Tyre, southern Lebanon, on Sunday, May 24, mourned the death of paramedic Yazan Nours Saeed, a Palestinian from Syria who had been displaced to Lebanon. The funeral procession was attended by a large crowd of camp residents, the martyr's family, and relatives.

Yazan Nours Saeed, originally from the al-Husayniyah camp in Syria, was killed two days prior in an Israeli airstrike that targeted ambulance crews in the town of Deir Qanoun al-Nahr, also in southern Lebanon.

The residents received the martyr's body with flowers, ululations, and songs, in a scene that blended grief and pride. His body was then taken to the camp's mosque for the funeral prayer before he was laid to rest in the Burj al-Shamali cemetery.

Yazan came from a Palestinian-Syrian family who were forced to flee Syria for Lebanon. They settled in Burj al-Shamali camp, where they endured years of displacement and refuge before his life was tragically cut short during the current war in Lebanon.

The funeral procession was deeply moving, as the martyr's parents bid farewell to their son with a mixture of pride and sorrow, a scene that reflected the profound grief and the weight of the loss.

Those close to the family said that the martyr was known among the camp's residents for his good character and kind nature, noting that news of his martyrdom had a profound impact on the camp's inhabitants, especially those who knew him well.

During the current war on Lebanon, Burj al-Shamali camp has witnessed a rise in the number of martyrs among its residents, amidst the ongoing escalation in the south and the recurring scenes of funerals and farewells in its alleyways.

The camp's residents refer to it as the "Camp of Martyrs" due to the many martyrs it has offered during successive wars and the continuous farewells it receives today as the Israeli aggression against Lebanon continues.

With the burial of the martyr Yazan Nours Saeed, his story joins many stories in the Burj al-Shamali camp, where refugee life intersects with war, and families continue to bid farewell to their sons one after another, in scenes that summarize the suffering of Palestinians between displacement, loss, and martyrdom.

شيّع أهالي مخيم البرج الشمالي في مدينة صور جنوبي لبنان، اليوم الأحد 24 أيار / مايو، جثمان الشهيد المسعف يزن نورس سعيد، الفلسطيني السوري النازح من سوريا إلى لبنان، وسط مشاركة شعبية من أبناء المخيم وذوي الشهيد وأقاربه.

واستُشهد المسعف يزن نورس سعيد، من فلسطينيي سوريا  - مخيم الحسينية- والمهجر إلى مخيم البرج الشمالي، جراء غارة شنتها قوات الاحتلال واستهدفت طواقم إسعاف في بلدة دير قانون النهر جنوبي لبنان قبل يومين. 

واستقبل الأهالي جثمان الشهيد بالورود والزغاريد والأناشيد، في مشهد امتزجت فيه مشاعر الحزن بالفخر، قبل أن يُنقل إلى مسجد المخيم، حيث أُديت صلاة الجنازة عليه، ثم ووري الثرى في مقبرة البرج الشمالي.

وينحدر الشهيد يزن من عائلة فلسطينية سورية اضطرت إلى النزوح من سوريا إلى لبنان، ليستقر مع أسرته في مخيم البرج الشمالي، حيث عاش سنوات اللجوء والنزوح، قبل أن تنتهي رحلته بالشهادة خلال الحرب الحالية على لبنان.

وشهدت مراسم التشييع لحظات مؤثرة، إذ ودّع والدا الشهيد نجلهما بمزيج من الفخر والحزن، في مشهد عكس قسوة الفقد وثقل الوداع.

وقال مقربون من العائلة: إن الشهيد كان معروفًا بين أبناء المخيم بحسن أخلاقه وعلاقاته الطيبة، مشيرين إلى أن خبر ارتقائه ترك أثراً كبيراً في نفوس سكان المخيم، لا سيما بين من عرفوه عن قرب.

ويشهد مخيم البرج الشمالي، خلال الحرب الحالية على لبنان، ارتفاعاً في عدد الشهداء من أبنائه والمقيمين فيه، في ظل استمرار التصعيد في الجنوب، وتكرار مشاهد التشييع والوداع في أزقته.

ويطلق سكان المخيم عليه اسم "مخيم الشهداء"، نظرًا لما قدّمه من شهداء خلال الحروب المتعاقبة، وما يشهده اليوم من وداع متواصل لأبنائه في ظل استمرار العدوان "الإسرائيلي" على لبنان. 

ومع مواراة الشهيد يزن نورس سعيد الثرى، تنضم حكايته إلى حكايات كثيرة في مخيم البرج الشمالي، حيث تتقاطع حياة اللجوء مع الحرب، ويواصل الأهالي وداع أبنائهم واحدًا تلو الآخر، في مشاهد تختصر معاناة الفلسطينيين بين النزوح والفقد والشهادة.
