The body of expatriate Shah Alam Bhuiyan returned home. His body reached the country on Thursday (April 9) afternoon after he was killed by the debris of a downed drone in the Al-Shifa'a area of ​​the Emirate of Huzairah in the United Arab Emirates. The atmosphere became heavy with the wailing of relatives surrounding the coffin, and a shadow of grief fell on the entire family.

The attack occurred at his workplace in Dubai at around 9 am on Wednesday, April 1, Bangladesh time. The deceased Shah Alam is the son of the late Hanif Bhuiyan of Jiruin village (Bhuiyan Bari) of Sahebabad Union of Brahmanpara Upazila of Comilla.

According to family sources, Shah Alam first went to Dubai in search of livelihood in 2013. He last returned to work after taking a three-month leave in 2025. The untimely death of Shah Alam, a father of four, is causing grief to his family and the area.

In this regard, the local UP member of Sahibabad Union Md. Zakir Hossain said, "A heartbreaking situation has arisen since the news of Shah Alam's body reaching his home. The sky and air have become heavy with the wailing of his wife, two sons and two daughters."

His funeral prayer was held after Asr prayers on the same day and his body was buried in the family graveyard.

গত ১ এপ্রিল বুধবার বাংলাদেশ সময় সকাল ৯টার দিকে দুবাইয়ের নিজ কর্মস্থলে এই হামলার ঘটনা ঘটে। নিহত শাহ আলম কুমিল্লার ব্রাহ্মণপাড়া উপজেলার সাহেবাবাদ ইউনিয়নের জিরুইন গ্রামের (ভূঁইয়া বাড়ি) মৃত হানিফ ভূঁইয়ার ছেলে।

​পারিবারিক সূত্রে জানা গেছে, ২০১৩ সালে প্রথমবার জীবিকার সন্ধানে দুবাই যান শাহ আলম। সর্বশেষ গত ২০২৫ সালে তিন মাসের ছুটি কাটিয়ে তিনি পুনরায় কর্মস্থলে ফিরে গিয়েছিলেন। চার সন্তানের জনক শাহ আলমের এমন অকাল মৃত্যুতে তাঁর পরিবার ও এলাকায় শোকের মাতম চলছে।

এ বিষয়ে সাহেবাবাদ ইউনিয়নের স্থানীয় ইউপি সদস্য মো. জাকির হোসেন বলেন, "শাহ আলমের মরদেহ তার নিজ বাড়ীতে খবর পৌঁছানোর পর থেকে এক হৃদয়বিদারক পরিস্থিতির সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। তাঁর স্ত্রী, দুই ছেলে ও দুই মেয়ের আহাজারিতে আকাশ-বাতাস ভারী হয়ে উঠেছে।"

একই দিন বাদ আসর তার নামাজের জানাজা শেষ পারিবারিক কবরস্থানে তার লাশ দাফন সম্পন্ন হয়েছে।
