Martyr Mujahid Atef Saleh Al-Zamli: The Knight of Military Ambulance

The Birth of the Knight
On the tenth of August, 1971, the Rafah refugee camp witnessed the birth of a new moon. His family rejoiced at the arrival of Atef Ibrahim Saleh Al-Zamli into this world, his first cry a testament to his noble character. Our martyr – may God have mercy on him – grew up in the bosom of a family of mujahideen whose roots trace back to the town of Beersheba, whose inhabitants were forcibly displaced by the attacks of Zionist gangs that targeted civilians.
Our martyr was beloved from a young age by his family, friends, and colleagues. He was diligent in his studies, humble, kind-hearted, and never held a grudge against anyone. He disliked lying, hypocrisy, backbiting, and gossip. He was obedient to his parents, drawing closer to God through his love and devotion to them. He loved his brothers and friends.
Everyone who knew our martyr, the mujahid Atef, loved him, as he never neglected any of them. He married and God blessed him with three sons and one daughter.
His Education: Our martyr, the mujahid Atef Al-Zamli (may God have mercy on him), attended elementary and preparatory schools for Palestinian refugees, and later secondary school. He was a diligent and high-achieving student, always present at the mosque, committed to his prayers, never missing or being late for any. He studied electronics engineering and earned a diploma in construction and contracting. He completed more than 35 advanced first aid courses before working as a paramedic in the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
In the ranks of the Brigades
Our martyr, Atef al-Zamili, loved jihad from a young age. He longed to be a fighter, bearing arms and traversing the battlefields of honor and dignity. However, his jihad took a different, yet noble, form: jihad through his expertise as a combat medic. In 2007, he joined the ranks of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Jihad Movement. He worked in the Brigades' combat medic unit, which attends to the health needs of the Brigades' fighters. Our martyr participated in special and honorable jihadist missions, details of which we are withholding for security reasons.
Medal of Courage
The Palestinian Ministry of Health awarded our martyr, Atef Saleh Ibrahim Al-Zamli "Abu Nael," the Medal of Courage for his bravery and valor in his work as a paramedic. Our martyr performed many critical and difficult acts in rescuing the wounded and evacuating the dead. He served as a courageous paramedic throughout three fierce wars, earning the praise of all, until God chose him as a martyr while on duty during Operation Protective Edge.
A Date with Departure
On August 1, 2014, Abu Nael had a date with the martyrs and at the Prophet's Basin (peace and blessings be upon him). He ascended to martyrdom while fasting, by the permission of God Almighty. Zionist treacherous planes launched a number of missiles towards the ambulance he was riding in while trying to rescue a number of wounded and martyrs from the Sheikh Al-Eid family in the Musbah area. He was accompanied by paramedics Youssef Jaber Darabieh and Youssef Ajmaian Sheikh Al-Eid. He was martyred after an honorable jihadist journey in the ranks of the Al-Quds Brigades. We believe him to be so, and we do not praise anyone before God. We ask God Almighty to accept our martyr with His mercy and to place him in the Gardens of Bliss with the righteous, the martyrs, and the pious, and to inspire his family and relatives with patience and solace and to compensate them with good.

حقاً إننا خجولين أن نكتب عنك يا فارسنا، عن ماذا نكتب عن جهادك وشجاعتك وبسالتك وإخلاصك، أم نكتب عن أخلاقك وصفاتك التي جعلت الجميع يحبك ويعرفك، قل لنا عن ماذا نكتب يا فارس الإسعاف الحربي، لقد سطر "أبا نائل" الكثير من البطولات التي حاكت بقوتها صور من إبداع صحابة رسول الله عليه الصلاة والسلام.
ميلاد الفارس
في العاشر من شهر أغسطس لعام 1971م، كان مخيم الثورة "رفح" على موعدٍ مع ميلادِ قمرٍ جديدٍ، فاستبشر الأهل خيراً بقدوم عاطف إبراهيم صالح الزاملي إلى هذه الدنيا مطلقاً صرخة في المهد. كبر وترعرع شهيدنا – رحمه الله – في أكناف عائلةٍ مجاهدةٍ تعود جذورها لبلدة بئر السبع والتي هُجر أهلُها قسراً تحت ضربات العصابات الصهيونية التي استهدفت المدنيين.
كان شهيدنا منذ نعومة أظفاره محبوباً لدى الجميع من أهلٍ وأصدقاءٍ وزملاء، وكان مجتهداً في دراسته، متواضعاً طيب القلبِ لا يحمل على أحدٍ، لا يحب الكذب ولا يحب الرياء ولا يعرف الغيبة أو النميمة مطيعاً لوالديه، يتقرب إلى الله بحبهما وطاعتهما، كان محباً لإخوانه وأصدقائه.
فكل من عرف شهيدنا المجاهد عاطف أحبه حيث كان لا يقصر في أحدٍ منهم. تزوج شهيدنا ورزقه الله بثلاثة من الأولاد وبنت واحدة.
دراسته
التحق شهيدنا المجاهد عاطف الزاملي -رحمه الله- بمدراس الابتدائية والإعدادية للاجئين الفلسطينيين، وبعدها الثانوية وكان من الطلبة المجتهدين والمتفوقين في الدراسة، وكان دائم التواجد في المسجد ملتزماً في صلاته لا يترك فرضاً أو يتأخر عنه. درس هندسة الالكترونيات وحصل على دبلوم بناء ومقاولات. أنجز شهيدنا أكثر من 35 دورة إسعاف أولي متقدمة إلى أن عمل ضابط إسعاف في وزارة الصحة الفلسطينية.
في صفوف السرايا
أحب شهيدنا عاطف الزاملي الجهادَ منذ أن كان صغيراً، وتمنى أن يكون مجاهداً يحملُ السلاحَ، ويصول ويجول في ساحاتِ الوغى والكرامة، ولكن كان جهاده بطريقة أخرى وعظيمة وهي الجهاد بمجال خبرته كمسعف حربي فالتحق في عام 2007م بصفوف سرايا القدس الجناح العسكري لحركة الجهاد الإسلامي، وكان عمله في وحدة الإسعاف الحربي التابعة لسرايا القدس، والتي تهتم بالعديد من النواحي الصحية الخاصة بمجاهدي السرايا، وقد شارك شهدينا المجاهد بمهمات جهادية خاصة ومشرفة نتكتم عليها لأسباب أمنية.
وسام الشجاعة
منحت وزارة الصحة الفلسطينية شهيدنا عاطف صالح إبراهيم الزاملي "أبو نائل" وسام الشجاعة وذلك لشجاعته وبسالته في عمله في الإسعاف الأولي حيث قام شهيدنا بالعديد من المواقف الحرجة والصعبة في عمليات إنقاذ المصابين وإخلاء الشهداء، فقد عمل ضابط إسعاف شجاع على مدار ثلاثة حروب شرسة شهد له الجميع فيها إلى أن اصطفاه الله شهيداً وهو على رأس عمله في معركة البنيان المرصوص.
موعد مع الرحيل
بتاريخ 1-8-2014 م، كان "أبا نائل" على موعد مع الإفطار عند الشهداء وعلى حوض المصطفى -صلى الله عليه وسلم- فقد ارتقى شهيداً صائماً بإذن الله –تعالى- فأطلقت طائرات الغدر الصهيونية عدد من الصواريخ تجاه سيارة الإسعاف التي كان يستقلها أثناء محاولته لإنقاذ عدد من المصابين والشهداء من عائلة شيخ العيد بمنطقة مصبح، وبرفقته المسعفين يوسف جابر درابيه ويوسف اجميعان شيخ العيد، فاستشهد بعد مشوار جهادي مشرّف في صفوف سرايا القدس، نحسبه كذلك ولا نزكي على الله أحداً، ونسأل الله تعالى أن يتقبل شهيدنا برحمته وأن يسكنه جنات النعيم مع الصديقين والشهداء والصالحين، وأن يلهم أهله وذويه الصبر والسلوان وأن يعوضهم خيراً.
