Today marks two years since the passing of my companion at the mosque, the martyr Samah Abu Hweishil, and her family. This martyr was skilled in reciting the Quran; sometimes she would tell me to listen to Al-Ajami, and other times she would say, "This is Al-Dousari," and so on until the memorization time passed. May God have mercy on her and grant her Paradise.

On the same day, my cousin Yasmin Bakr Shahin was martyred, succumbing to her injuries after her house in Al-Bureij was bombed. Yasmin was like a jasmine flower; she knew nothing of gossip or slander, nor of malice. Her defining characteristic was silence and tranquility. She was a paragon of gentleness and kindness. She had begun memorizing the Quran months before her martyrdom. May God have mercy on her and grant her Paradise.

هذه الشهيدة كانت تتفنن في قراءة القرآن تارة تقول لي استمعي للعجمي، وأخرى تقول هذه للدوسري وهكذا حتى يمر وقت التحفيظ، رحمها الله وأسكنها فسيح جناته.
وفي ذات اليوم استشهدت ابنة عمي ياسمين بكر شاهين متأثة بجراحها بعد قصف بيتها في البريج، كانت ياسمين كالياسمينة لا تعرف للغيبة والنميمة طريق، ولا تعرف للغل طريق، كان سمتها الصمت والهدوء، كانت آية في الوداعة واللطف، بدأت بحفظ القرآن قبل استشهادها بأشهر، رحمها الله واسكنها فسيح الجنات.
