A single source reported a US drone strike destroyed a car in Askariya, in Lahj province on September 14, 2013, killing two militants and wounding two more with no civilian harm currently reported.

The Yemen Post quoted an anonymous official “The four men were traveling by car through Askariya when they were struck by the drone.” Two of the men were killed and two injured, “one rather seriously.”

The source alleged all four passengers were militants but did not provide further information about their identities.

Yemeni officials reportedly confirmed on Sunday September 15 that President Hadi had authorised a ‘US-led drone strike’ in the southern Lahj province on the preceding Saturday, but it is unclear when exactly the strike occurred.
