A suspected US drone killed up to eight people and wounded as many as nine in the village of Khushali, south Waziristan, local media reported, though it was unclear whether the casualties were militants or civilians.

After tribesmen fired on three drones circling their village, a Predator reportedly killed up to eight people in an 11.30pm strike on a house said to be owned by a man named as Dossel, as reported by Dawn.

Geo TV reported a local security official as stating: “After the drones came under fire a missile hit a house in the village. We have four dead now and another nine people were injured.”

Dawn reported that those killed were “mostly Middle eastern and Central Asian, ” suggesting that they were foreign fighters. However, no reports provided further details about the identities of the killed and wounded.

As of now, the US has not confirmed its involvement in this incident.
