An alleged US drone struck a military compound in Haider Khel, north Waziristan, local and international news reported, putting the death toll at six, though it was unclear whether civilians were among the killed and wounded.

Several reported that the compound of Ahmad Ali was attacked, killing between five and six alleged militants, all reportedly locals.

A Pakistani security official told Long War Journal: “The compound belonged to local tribesman Ahmad Ali and had become a hub of militants’ movement.”

A total of five drones were reportedly involved, “creating panic among the residents.”

While some reported that the killed were militants, Xinhua and GeoTV reported that up to six “people” were killed, like several said that up to two “others” were left wounded. Until their status gains further clarification, they will, as os now, be treated as possible being civilians.
