(Previous Incident Code: Ob171 )

The US allegedly killed at least seven militants in Khyber Agency, more specifically Tirah Valley, local and international news reported.

Reports described how a US drone struck a vehicle in the Tirah Valley, killing “at least” seven militants.

A named Taliban commander Ibne Amin and his six bodyguards reportedly died in the strike. This was at least the second time Ibne’s death was recorded (see Ob93). He was described as a “mastermind in making of explosives and butchering people” and was reportedly “involved in myriad incidents of slaughtering people.”
However, Amin was also reported death by another US strike on the following day, Ob174.

The strike was, at the time, one of the very few recorded in Khyber Agency, marking a possibly shift in the US Pakistani drone program.

There were no reports of civilian harm.
