The US allegedly carried out three strikes in South Waziristan on June 6, 2011. The first  two are detailed in Ob 214 and Ob215 while the third is described below.

In the third FATA drone strike of the day, a vehicle was destroyed killing between three and five alleged militants, but possibly counting civilians, in Darnashtra, the borderlands between North and South Waziristan, local and international media reported.

Up to five drones were reported to be flying in the area, with the attack taking place at around 10am, some between eight and four hours after the previous two strikes.

While many reported that the killed were militants, other sources merely described how the strike killed up to five “people”, thus suggesting civilian casualties.

Also, according to al-Jazeera’s correspondent, reporting from all the three strikes, said civilians were possibly among the dead.

All known sources agreed that the strike, like the two former, was carried out by a US drone.
