Airwars assessment
One child (14) and a young man (18) were injured in alleged Libyan National Army shelling on Wali Al Ahed street in Abo Salim area of Tripoli on December 30th, 2019, according to local sources.
Tk Yahrouq Kul Shy posted on Facebook that “a random shell landed in Wali Al Ahed street in front of the Omar Bin Al Khattab mosque” and reported civilian casualties, but did not state how many civilians allegedly died.
Burkan Al Ghadab Operation reported that the militia Haftar was responsible for the shelling, which “caused injuries to a number of the residents of the region according to the initial tally in addition to damage to the homes and cars of citizens”.
In another Facebook post, Burkan Al Ghadab Operation identified Abdel Rahman Suleiman Fakkini (18) as one of the injured. The young man was severly injured by shrapnel in his head and was transferred to a hospital.
The mayor of Abu Salim, Abdul Rahman Al Hamedi, confirmed that a 14-year-old child was also injured in the incident.
Tk Yahrouq Kul Shy posted photos of the damaged house of Ali Al Suhairi, but stated that there no civilian harm occured in the family home.
