Local sources reported airstrikes in multiple areas of Benghazi – including Sabri, the fish market area at the tomb of Omar al-Mukhtar, the municipal hotel, the Republic Hospital and the Al-Nuran Hotel.

According to a report in Akhbar Alaan, the LNA announced ten strikes on militants in the city.

Other sources put the number of strikes at 15. On Facebook, Thowrat reported that the strikes were Egyptian. According to Alwasat, “The commander of the Special Forces, Lt. Col. Mari al-Houti, said on Sunday that an intensive aerial bombardment for the second day in a row targeted the sites and gatherings of ‘terrorist organizations’ in the centre of Sabri and the centre of the fish market area in the eastern city of Benghazi.”

No monitored reports mentioned civilian casualties at the time.

According to local sources and the Egyptian government, Cairo carried out four ‘retaliatory’ air raids in Derna.

Babak Taghvaee reported the Egyptian Air Force had targeted the “al Qaeda affiliated Shura Council” in Derna.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister confirmed strikes, reporting it had targeted “terrorist organizations in Derna” – in response to the killing of more than two dozen Coptic Christians inside Libya. The video of the beheading of the Christians was released by ISIS.

It was unclear from the reports monitored whether any civilians had been injured in the attacks.

Various local sources reported that airstrikes hit numerous targets in the Jufra district, including a farm between Hun and Sokna, Jufra air base, the civil airport and Al-Bunyan al-Marsous headquarters. Some sources claimed the strikes were conducted by the UAE, while others said it was LNA. The number of strikes varies between ten and twelve.

Weld Liblad, LPC and Menastream said one foreign civilian worker had been killed and two more injured at the farm.

Several sources reported a UAE airstrike in Ganfouda which allegedly killed Omer Ishkal, a former officer of the Gaddafi regime as well as two foreign workers and a child. Iskhal’s status as a combatant is not clear as he was once imprisoned by the Shura Council, then set free, but also sought-after as he refused to leave Benghazi.

The Libya Observer reported that Omer Ishkal – a “former regime officer” – was killed in an airstrike that the Benghazi Shura Council blamed on the UAE.

Several other outlets reported additional deaths. The official outlet of the Benghazi Shura Council reported “foreign workers” were also killed. Benghazi Post reported a child died. Sayidat Tajura said two foreign workers died.

Libya Alahrar TV reported on Facebook that four children were killed in an airstrike in Ganfouda carried out by the UAE in support of LNA. A two-family house was reportedly hit in the strike.

Other sources, such as Morasel Benghazi and bngazy22, also reported the death of four children, some of them quoting the Saraya Media Center.

Al-Saraya Media Center reported that 4 children from 2 familes were killed in the Benghazi neighbourhood of Ganfouda by airstrikes.

Aareen Alasood posted extremely graphic pictures of the victims on Twitter.

According to Abdulqader Alqainin reported that 14 airstrikes in Benghazi were recorded on that day.

Alnabaa reported four UAE drone strikes.
