In a funeral shrouded in grief and sorrow, the city of Tyre bid farewell this afternoon to retired Lieutenant Colonel Ahmad Gharib and his family members who perished with him: his wife, Hanan Sabra, and their daughters, Rasha, Maya, and Nour. The pure bodies arrived at the Al-Zahraa Cemetery in Tyre aboard Lebanese Army ambulances. Many residents of the city, friends and loved ones of the deceased family, as well as military figures and community leaders, were present to receive the bodies. Following the funeral prayer led by Sheikh Ali Haballah, the pure bodies were carried to their final resting place in the Al-Zahraa Cemetery. Lebanese media reported that the Israeli bombing of the Al-Housh area yesterday struck the family of Ahmed Gharib, killing him, his wife Hanan Sabra, and their young daughters Rasha, Maya, and Nour. The Lebanese University mourned the loss of Rasha and Maya. The university's administration and the dean of the Faculty of Dentistry stated: "We mourn the martyr Rasha Ahmed Gharib (fourth-year dental student), who was killed as a result of the Israeli aggression against the South on September 23, 2024." The university's administration and the dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Architecture also mourned "the martyr, architect Maya Ahmed Gharib (a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts), who was killed along with her family."
