Airwars assessment

A professor, Dr. Tayseer Kamel Ibrahim (50 years old), was killed by alleged Israeli bombing on either October 12th or 13th, 2023, in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip.

Shehab Agency stated that Dr. Ibrahim was a lecturer at the Islamic University, and local source Mohammed Muhareb specified that Dr. Ibrahim was the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law.

Al Jazeera stated that Israeli aircraft bombed the home in which Dr. Ibrahim was staying. Sources attributed the strike to the Israeli forces.

Where possible, names have been matched with the Palestinian Ministry of Health list of fatalities in Gaza released on October 26th, 2023.

Correction: The New York Times later reported that Ibrahim was affiliated with Hamas. Though he was said to be a “less senior figure” the article also stated that he was the “head of the movement’s judicial branch.”

Due to the scale and urgency of Airwars’ assessment process, all images have been automatically uploaded to each assessment with the graphic filter applied to protect users. We have also included all images identified from the sources, which may also include any imagery of combatants.

The local time of the incident is unknown.
