Last Updated: October 24, 2025

On 18 March 2025, an alleged Israeli airstrike or drone strike hit a tent sheltering displaced civilians near al-Ahram Tower in the vicinity of the FIFA Stadium, close to al-Zawaida Cemetery in the central Gaza Strip, resulting in the death of at least one civilian and the injury of at least one other. The projectile was referred to by some witnesses and local media as a reconnaissance missile, and various sources reported that the attack tore through the family tent of people displaced from elsewhere in Gaza.

Reports varied on the number of civilian deaths and injuries. Talal Abu Husain and PalestineTV stated two civilians were killed and others injured. Others, such as Mahmoud Jarwan and Maisoun Awad, stated one person had been killed and another had been injured, with Awad adding that the casualties were brought to al-Awda Hospital.

Images released by local sources showed a burned tent outline and dispersed fragments on the ground.

Where sources identified a belligerent, all sources attributed the attack to the Israeli military.
