Ambulance Services Libya only reported one injury.

Hona Souq Al-Khmies reported: “5 rockets land on the university dormitory where the displaced people live, wounding 2 members of the police, and the killing of the citizen Hamza Abdel-Rahman in an outrageous way as a result of the shelling

The pictures we received from the hospital for the young man’s body.”

The GNA-led Burkan Al Ghadab operation said: “Grad rockets fired by the terrorist Haftar militia fell a short while ago in the vicinity of the IDPs’ residence in the Al-Farnaj area, died as a result of Hamza Abdul-Rahman Al-Tawil, son of the former chief of staff, Major General Abdul-Rahman al-Tawil, and wounded 2 policemen.”

Airwars assessment

Up to six civilians were allegedly killed and up to 27 more injured by allegedly LNA shelling on the Abu Salim neighbourhood of Tripoli.

Tk Yahrouq Kl shy reported two deaths.

Hona Souq Al-Khmies repored two dead and eight injured.

The Field Medicine and Support Center said one person was killed and 27 more civilians injured.

The GNA-led Burkan Al-Ghadab operation posted: “6 dead, dozens wounded, and extensive damage to private and public property, from the destruction of homes and cars in the bombing of the Haftar terrorist militia on citizens’ homes in the densely populated Abu Salim municipality.”

The LNA itself declared the shelling without mentioning civilian harm: “The artillery was able to target the ammunition of the criminal militia Ghanwa inside its headquarters in the heart of Abu Salim in a process that is surprising, accurate and painful.”

Up to seven civilians were allegedly killed and up to twelve injured by indiscrimiante shelling on the Souq Al Talata area of Tripoli.

The Field Medicine and Support Center said three were killed and 11 injured.

The GNA-led Burkan Al Ghadab operation posted that five were killed and eight injured, one of which a child whose leg had to be amputated.

Reuters reported: “Sunday’s shelling hit an expanse of grass that residents often use to relax on the edge of the Hay al-Andalus neighbourhood, west of central Tripoli.

Ameen al-Hashimi, a press officer for the Tripoli government’s health ministry, told Reuters five people, two of them unidentified, had been killed, and 12 wounded.

Osama Ali, a spokesman for local ambulance services, said four of the casualties had been killed at the grassy area and one other at a second, nearby location.”

Al Wasat said: “A spokesman for the ambulance and emergency services, Osama Ali, said that 5 citizens were killed by shells falling on Souq Al Talata and Al Gharbi Street in Tripoli.

Ali added, in a press statement, that four citizens were killed in Souq Al Talata, one man was seriously injured, a woman had minor injuries and is receiving first aid at her relatives home.”

The Libya Observer initially reported seven killed but later corrected to number to five.

Libya Alahrar TV and the Libya Observer accused the GNA of conducting the shelling. Tarhuna 24 blamed the GNA.

Nour Al Din Nasser Al Zanki said that “he suffered full body and face burns, cut wounds to the right leg, and amputation of a toe on the right foot. He died several days later.”

Sirte martyrs reported: “The martyr Abu Nawf and his father, the martyr Abu Ajila Al-Jayer Abu Nawf Al-Tarshani Al-Gaddafi, Abu Nawf was martyred on 07/09 2011 as a result of his injury in the Al-Haniyeh area and died of surgery in Ibn Sina Hospital”. It is unclear whether his father also deceased in the attack.

NATO on that day reported hitting “5 Armoured Fighting Vehicles, 2 Armed Vehicles” in the vicinity of Sirte.

Al Jazeera noted at the time: “On his part, a spokesman for the rebels said on Monday that nine people were killed and more than forty others were wounded on Sunday when forces loyal to Gaddafi bombed the town of Zintan, held by the rebels, in the west of the country.”

17 Feb Revolution wrote: “Libyan opposition spokesman said on Monday that nine people were killed on Sunday when forces loyal to Muammar Gaddafi bombed the opposition-held Zintan town with artillery and missiles.

‘Nine were killed because of the bombing… yesterday, and more than 40 others were wounded, the spokesman, Abdul Rahman, told Reuters by phone from Zintan. ‘It was the heaviest bombardment in several weeks.'”

Airwars assessment

In one of the first mass casualty events of the 2011 Libya uprising,  Amnesty International reported 59 civilians injured on February 15th as a result of demonstrations in Benghazi against Gaddafi forces. The demonstrations lasted until the end of February 16th.

Amnesty International stated that “protesters [were] reportedly assaulted by members of the police, riot police (Central Security), the People’s Leadership and Revolutionary Committees. According to al-Jala’a Hospital records and testimonies of victims and witnesses, in the two days 59 protesters were treated for injuries not caused by firearms.”

Airwars assessment

Between 60 and 72 people were killed near the Eastern Hill Bridge on a highway in Tripoli by Gaddafi forces on August 21, 2011 according to multiple posts and videos, including Gharyan Radio and Libyan People Youtube.

A video posted by Wasat Al Bilad shows multiple men with guns blocking a road and interacting with cars as they drive by. Gharyan Radio posted images of the suspected killers and describes them as making a fake gate in the road and stopping everyone and killing some. A video posted by Libyan People shows two men beating two other men in the street and you can hear men screaming, as well as gunshots.
