Baladi News stated that “a civilian was killed and another was injured on Friday due to warplanes shelling the perimeter of Khan Sheikhoun city in the southern countryside of Idlib.”

According to this source, “the regime’s warplanes bombed cluster bombs at dawn on Friday on the city of Khan Sheikhoun and the surrounding farms” leading to the casualties.

Other sources stated that two civilians were killed in the incident. The Syrian Human Rights Committee named these fatalities as Mohammed Nasser Diab and Ahmad Omar Al-Ma’rati.

Three sources attributed the attack to the Syrian regime, while one other source named both Russian forces and the Syrian regime in reports of the incident. One other source did not positively attribute blame.

The incident occured around dawn.

Baladi News stated that “the raids caused the martyrdom of one civilian as a preliminary outcome, and wounded 17 others, including 11 children and three women, found by civil defense teams who took them immediately to medical points.”

Smart News reported that “Russian warplanes carried out four airstrikes on farms in the town, killing one civilian and wounding 17 others, including 11 children and three women. The raids targeted a cave near the farm where families were sheltering.”

Syrian Network for Human Rights named the fatality as Bayan Abdullah Ulwan.

All sources attributed the attack to Russian forces.

Macro Media Center stated that “a child was killed, and 3 other children and a man were injured after a MiG-23 fighter jet was shelled with residential neighborhoods in Hass town south of Idlib.”

Syrian Network for Human Rights named the child killed as Mohammad Thaer Qal`aji.

According to Baladi News and other sources, “the martyred child was an orphan whose parents were martyred in a [previous] massacre […] committed by Russian warplanes on October 26th, 2016”.

Syrian Network for Human Rights reported that “Syrian regime warplanes fired missiles near Saned School for Orphans in Hass village in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate, partially damaging its building and furniture, on August 11th.”

Sources predominantly attributed the attack to the Syrian regime, while three others named both Russian forces and the Assad regime in reports of the incident. A number of other sources did not positively attribute blame.

Two civilians were reported killed, and five to nine injured, in airstrikes on Hazzareen, Idlib, on August 11th.

Smart News documented “destroyed houses on August 11th, 2019, in the village of Hazareen in southern Idlib governorate in the north of the country as a result of a Russian airstrike that targeted civilian houses, killing a young man and wounding five others.”

Meanwhile, Macro Media Center reported that “a civilian was also killed and more than nine others were injured, including a woman, after Russian warplanes bombarded the town of Hazareen near Kafranbel city south of Idlib.”

Syrian Network for Human Rights named the man killed as Abdul Rahman Abdul Halim al Hmoud.

Following these initial reports, sources reported the death of another man who succumbed to his injuries two days after the attack.

Syrian Network for Human Rights stated that “Anas Walid Abdul Aziz died on August 13th, due to wounds sustained on August 11th, as fixed- wing warplanes we believe were Russian fired missiles on Hazareen village in the southern suburbs of Idlib governorate.”

Seven sources attributed the attack to Russian forces, while three others named both Russia and the Syrian regime in reports of the incident.
