Alleged Syrian or Russian airstrikes struck Saraqib in Idlib, according to local sources.
The Syrian Civil Defense who were at the scene reported that “12 civilians, including five children and two women were killed and 22 others were injured by the targeting of civilian houses, a mosque and shops in the center of the town”. The source added that the attack was carried out in the morning and involved high-impact missiles.
Local Coordination Committee of Syria reported a much lower death toll of two people killed and several wounded, mostly children, and blamed a Russian airliner.
Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that at least eight civilians were killed, in what it described “a massacre”, of whom at least one was a woman and one a child
According to Smart news, one of the wounded was a child who is being treated at a medical point in the town of Saraqib. The source added that the attack was carried out on a residential area and injured a total of nine civilians, including women and children. In a separate post the source reported on ten wounded civilians.
